Jordan has been a knowledgeable Nascar fan for a while and Denny Hamlin is sponsored by the Jordan brand. Great news for Nascar.

I did enjoy reading this. Could be a launching pad for the next era of fans.

I like Bubba.

I agree. Bubba is a good guy. I don't think he is an elite talent but he is talented enough to be competitive and get a win here or there. Look at drivers like Danica Patrick, Austin Dillon, Paul Menard, Aric Almirola, Clint Bowyer, and Ryan Newman who have been mediocre drivers but had a ride because they had good sponsorship. At worst, Wallace can be in that group. Plus, he is 26. Nascar drivers don't peak until their mid 30s.

Sad that Yahoo News killed the comments section. Gave in to the PC police. That comment section was like instant comedy.

I agree. He could be Bowyer/Newman level. But I think he would draw attention, not to Dale Jr. levels, nobody can do that that I see, but certainly draw eyes and bodies to the track.

I've been out of NASCAR for the past couple years but I'd like to get back to it if something was interesting.

If you like reading comments from idiots. I don't miss the comment section at all.

I will say that the Athletic turning off comments on the articles about the US National Women soccer team's lawsuit is weak sauce.

Of all the sporting events I've gone to in-person, a NASCAR race is top 3.

I really think it is something everyone should experience. It's insane.

Good to see Bubba still hanging in there among the best drivers.

I used to love that track until they started the restrictor plate crap. Plus it was in the middle of a nothing little town that only matters twice a year. And I actually watched some of the prerace stuff and forgot to turn back when the Sox and football started.
