It's not just Newton. He didn't have to waste a 4th round pick to find a guy who couldn't beat (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky.

Whenever he is fired, it will be his pick management that is the reason why. He seems to treat draft picks as fairly worthless. It's amazing he was smart enough to make the Mack trade a 1st and a 3rd for a 2nd in 2020 which was a major win.

pace misread the QB market. though credit to anyone who thought jameis and cam would only get one year min. deals. i sure didnt. i mean the colts were supposedly going to give up picks for foles too and then they gave washed up phil rivers $25M...

Cam is on pace to have like 175 rushes this year. It will be interesting to see if that holds up because that's going to be a lot of wear and tear on him once again.

Pretty obvious at this point that Pace is either totally inept at evaluating QBs or Nagy is demanding they pick up guys that know his "system". Mitch is a convenient whipping boy for Pace, it seems to buy him time because if the O fails it's all Mitch's fault, it's almost as if Nagy is afraid to let a proven vet run his system because if the O is still terrible with a different guy it starts to put serious heat on Nagy as a head coach.

is that take wrong now? cam got signed to a league min 1 year deal. to get foles a 4th was given up. and foles is now your backup for the next 2 years because of how the contract was setup. somewhat expensive for a backup.... though to foles credit he seems to be at his best coming in as a backup

And Foles has shown he is willing to give up money to play.

If the Bears are going to re-build after this year becuase of cap issues, then I'm ok with Foles, as long as pace isn't around to do the drafting.
