We got us a new guy now. You'll make a decent backup for Dteroit or something.

We’ll see. Foles doesn’t have a good history of staying healthy.

This has to get Pace fired after the season doesn't it?

Mitch seems like he's rocking a mid 70s IQ and I think that might be his biggest problem, with having poor accuracy and poor football instincts being a very close 2nd and 3rd.

It's why he couldn't beat out guys destined for the XFL until his senior year at Chapel Hill

I realize that the Wonderlic is a flawed test, and a high score doesn't mean shit - hell, most of us would do pretty well on it and we can't throw a football at all.

But I think there is a minimum intelligence and creativity level necessary for playing quarterback. It's mostly spatial, can you see patterns quickly to allow your natural physical ability to kick in.

Mitch is a nice guy. But he's a dolt.

The biggest red flag involving Mitch was he sat behind a guy at UNC for two years who could not make an NFL roster.

I've said this for a few years..he is dumb as fuck. His only asset is speed - athleticism. He's basically Hester.

Sounds like someone who knew Mitch was too dumb to get a whole playbook down. There's your proof.

Lazor came over to Mitch and told him "Nick's up." It wasn't Nagy.

Saw this and it was unintentionally the most damning indictment of Mitch possible, and if you look at this from at 50,000 foot level, a damning indictment of Nagy/Pace who must have known Mitch was never gonna get it, but this type of lack of QB ability impairs the development of everyone else on your offense. This type of coaching/GM malpractice might have got both guys launched in another market with a much more aggressive owner, but decent play from Foles likely get both another year at the helm.

While Mitch doesn't exactly speak the Kings English, he is no Hester who almost needed a UN type translator to interpret what the hell he was sayin'.

I’m thinking it’s more Pace pushing Mitch than Nagy.

IMO Nagy gave up on Mitch sometime last year.

As did everyone else on the team except maybe ARob.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is smart enough. It's not like Nagy has some amazingly difficult playbook anyways.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky just never solved his inaccuracy problem. An average quarterback hits that player in stride for a touchdown and looks like they had a pretty good first half. He missed yet again. I think that was the reason he got benched more than the actual interception he threw.

Foles was just flipping the ball into the air and praying. It worked though so hopefully it continues.

Pace spent a 4th round pick on Foles. They all wanted Foles to be the guy. He wasn't.

Hopefully Foles plays better than he practices.

I don't think Nagy ever liked Mitch. He lied to get the job.

I really don’t think Mitch is smart enough.

He is also too inaccurate.

That boy can run tho.

With the exception of that one run however he really hasn't been. He has a grand total of 8 rushes for 97 yards, 45 of which came on hisnone run yesterday.

as hub would say, you know not enough people are talking about the fact they made a change at QB in the 3rd game while having a 2-0 record. that's somewhat unheard of in the NFL

Correct

He broke a 45-yard run, but he still looked awkward and timid. 2018 Mitch would've scored on that play.

The one small shoulder injury effectively ended his running days with the Bears.

I imagine he will have a redemption with another team in a few years. He'll sign as a veteran backup, come in and get a win then be paid handsomely to back up rookie QB on various teams for the next decade.

you can be dumb and be a good QB in the NFL.

You cannot be a starting NLF QB for a good team and a) consistently overthrow your receivers and b) be completely unable to solve zone defenses.

He just has no touch. And it's not going to develop. He's better off being a wildcat option.
