The Raiders aren't going anywhere with that atrocious defense.

 Did you watch the Chiefs game?

In addition to Derek Carr outplaying Patrick Mahomes, many Bear fans here commended the defensive effort.

Shall I quote them for you?

Man even your defense of the Raiders' defense is leaky.

For the record, that would be "no" and "no."

For the record I don't mind that the Chiefs scored 32 on the Raiders. It is a problem when the no-name Pat's drop 29 on you, inclusive of three long TD drives. Surely you can admit giving up around 30 so far is not ideal. If they can hover around 22-25 then there should be more light at the end of the tunnel.

You mean last year where the Bears were marginally better than the Raiders in a down year even with the head to head loss?

Congrats!

I love that they are closing out games. Even in 2018 there were times when they gave up game winning drives when holding a lead late. Now, even though Nagy puts them in bad situations, they shut down the opponent on their last drive.

Not sure what to think here:

Two TD drives with yardage in the 60s: I can live with this. 14 points charged to the Bears' D.

Two FGs after "drives" of 19 yards or less: Steller of the defense to hold NO to FGs here but I'd charge the offense and special teams with the six points here, not the defense, due to poor starting field position. Six points charged to the offense and ST.

Two FGs after drives with yardage in the 50s: This includes the OT drive. Six points charged to the Bears' D.

20 points on the defense
6 points on offense and ST.

The six attributed to the offense and ST were avoidable and obviously came back to haunt the Bears. The Bears should have prevented the FG in OT.

Grade: B-

Again if the offense is able to put 24 points on the board, which is not asking a whole lot in this day and age of football, the game never gets to overtime. The defense didn't play amazing, but they certainly played well enough to keep the Bears in the game. Holding the Saints all those field goals was no easy task.

I was disappointed in the D.. Nola was down their 3 best wideouts.

the defense is awesome. its dumb to even talk about them. the offense would be scoring 30 points a game if the quarterback had 3 seconds to throw.

Smfh of course you were. That's because you are not smart. The Bears offense/special teams gifted the Saints a short field several times yesterday. Every time the defense held to a field goal. That was the only reason the Bears were even in the game and it went to overtime.

They do when Akiem Hicks plays.

Eddie Goldman opting out hurt the defense as well.

Fair points. Counterpoint: if you lose a DT/DE and that’s it your defense isn’t/wasn’t elite. It was top heavy and vulnerable even in a non covid season.

Without Rogers Green Bay sucks. Therefore the team is top heavy and not elite.

Mostly true. But, we have Rodgers. Gives us that chip, chair, and a chance.

Yeah pretty much an average D now. Still much better than the turnstiles in GB.

They are getting more pressure on the QBs, at least.
