Hawk and DJ

I cannot stand Ken Harrelson. I have pretty much stopped watching Sox games on TV. Every occasional time that I tune in, Hawk is complaining about the umpires. Maybe I should take my "good fortune" to Four Winds.
Speaking of air, Hawk is a childish windbag.

I think the Hawk thing has been beat to death. We know what he is...and what he isn't. I will continue to point out his play call of the interferece play when the Cubs played the Sox (2 years ago) as exhibit A of his unprofessional play calling.

That said...I think DJ needs to be called out on to the matt too. He is good, no...very good when he does color on Fox broadcasts (i.e. - without Hawk). When he is with Hawk, he becomes something else....almost an enabler of Hawk. I wish he'd step out more and be himself. He is probably worried about the Stoney factor...and his uncertain contract status...so he plays along with Hawks idiocy.

Keep pointing to it. As unprofessional as Hawk may have sounded calling the game, he was right. The umps should have stopped the play right then and there.

[What are you talking about? The Pierzynski thing had nothing to do with a bad call. Everything that happened on that play was in the rulebook. Blame the Angels lack of awareness, not the umps.

The Pierzynski call could have easily gone in the Angels favor, it was a BORDERLINE call that instead went in the Sox favor. Thats what I was talking about. Where did I say bad call? Reading is a skill.

So Cub fans can't comment on Hawk because it is not baseball related? :roll:

We should just stick in our own forum unless were here to praise everything White sox . :roll:

I can talk about whatever the fuck baseball team I want to talk to. Furthermore, I don't dislike the White Sox! I dislike Hawk, and I don't particularly like Ozzie, although I think he's a good manager. I like far more players that I dislike: Quentin, Ramirez, Thome, Dye, Floyd and Denks. I like watching those players. I also enjoy watching baseball, and the Sox happen to be a local team.

As for "tune out", I don't watch Sox games to listen to Hawk bitch. I watch to see the Sox play. I could mute the screen, but I'm often doing something else at the same time and I don't feel like sitting in a room in silence as I work.

Why do Sox fans get so defensive about Hawk?

Yes, because Ken Griffey Jr. is making the White Sox worse. Has he done anything since he came over? So far, I've been right, and the White Sox would be better with Swisher in center every day, both defensively and offensively.

I comment on a bunch of the Sox in-game threads, some negative comments, some positive. You can go back and check that.

Someone was asking about Hardcore, and I think it's someone who's REALLY into the game and into the team. As for the "Hawk & D.J. Show", I'm surprised that they've lasted this long on the White Sox TV broadcasts. I believe there's a chemistry problem, and I think the time is coming where one of "Hawk's" old school stories about the game will turn D.J. off to a point where you'll hear silence while the game is going on.

Shark, there is such a thing as sarcasm and many posters here on this board use it. I think you should really make a conscious effort in learning how to detect sarcasm when people post. It will help to keep you from posting unneccessary explanations and unneeded corrections.

I think the Sox organization thinks Hawk is beloved. Thye could not be more wrong.

I think Dj is a bad color guy anyways, he really doesn't bring any inisght, so might as well put Hawk in the color spot and let him yell and scream and get someone else in the booth that can call the game.

For the record, White Sox executive Bob Grim has told White Sox Interactive & the Trib's Teddy Greenstein that the team may rotate its TV & radio crews next season. The Sox hold an option on Darrin Jackson's contract and are waiting to find out if Steve Stone will continue to analyze games in 2009.

That fricken guy crying about how it should have been 3-0 yesterday if it wasnt for a error....hawk, errors are part of the game and they are going to happen, I actually think he is must be half drunk by time he gets to the game. If the white sox loved this guy so much, they get him into rehab before he drinks himself to death, the stories I have heard about drunk hawk :shock:
