Well, I was right. And I said it right after Foles came off the bench to win the Falcons game. I knew it at the time. I said you still go back to Mitch. I said it here. Everybody here said I was wrong and stupid. And our great Bears media said I was wrong.

Now I hear Hub saying maybe you go back to Mitch. Funny. He would have called me nuts after that Falcons game for saying that.

It's nice to be right when 99% think you're wrong.

Nagy isn't gonna do it this week. But Mitch being able to move and run matters with this shit offensive line. I knew it all along. I never bought this Nick Foles shit.

In the end, it won't matter as far as winning a Super Bowl. Neither can do that. I know that. But I'd still like to see the damn Bears make the playoffs. At this point we can't get one of the best college QBs. Record is gonna be too good for that scenario.

So just go to Mitch and figure out the next veteran QB for next year in the offseason.

Thanks.

You could go back to Joe Montana and it wouldn't make a difference with this bullshit O-Line.

what sucks is there is nothing we can do about it. you can't fix an oline mid season. i mean they might as well start injecting roids right now and just hope they dont get caught until after the super bowl

Montgomery looks like a fucking high school running back behind this sorry excuse for an NFL offensive line.

There was a fucking party in the backfield every damn play. Disgusting.

The line wasn't good. Then they lost the two best players of the group and replaced them with two guys who probably couldn't find employment anywhere else in the league

I predict that the line looks much better if (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky gets back in.

Correct. There were at least 5 times where I know Mitch would have escaped in this Rams game. Maybe more. It's not that Foles got sacked all the time because of it. But he had to rush a pass cuz he's a god damn statue. It's not just rolling out to run for a big game, which I think Mitch would have done a few times in this game, it's rolling out to buy fucking time.

Foles can't do that.

Mitch is the better guy of the two. Nagy knows it now. But he's stubborn and wants to prove he was right by making the move. Maybe after the Saints game he'll realize he has no choice if they want to make the playoffs.

i dont think nagy gives a fuck either way. hes looking at it like 'try something before you give up'. if he waited until they were 6-7 it would have clearly looked desperate and no chance of it mattering anyway.

this way, now that everyone sees foles isn't working, he can put mitch back in and the season is still in tact. might not be this week though, i think foles needs to lose one more game.

I said that. He's gonna a wait a week. That's obvious now.

Here's the facts.

Foles can't fucking move. He needs a clean pocket to be decent at best. The line sucks and Foles is collapsed on right away. He can't climb the pocket. He can't spin to roll out of the god damn mess. Mitch can do that. Thus, Mitch is the better option.

I realized this 4 weeks ago.

Yes, Mitch can roll out while Foles gets sacked. I'm trying to decide what's more preferable: getting sacked or rolling out and throwing a crisp, clean pass straight into a sideline judge's neck.

Foles has been throwing picks with time as well. He's been inaccurate with time also. So I'll take Mitch.

I'm just saying it's the better option. I'm not saying Mitch is good. I'm saying Foles is worse.

These are the two we have. We can't fix it until next year.

I just want to make the wild card round and be bounced. That's it. Mitch is the best guy to get that done.

Huh? What were you right about? Foles being bad doesn't make Mitch better. Mitch being younger doesn't mean he'll improve.

Foles has always been extremely up and down. That hasn't changed with the Bears. Mitch will get another change if Foles can't move the offense or gets injured. None of that means Mitch will begin executing the offense any better.

Lots of issues with this offense.

You do realize that statistically that Foles isn't more accurate?

And I hope you realize my post actually conceded the point on Foles - he gets sacked. I didn't say Mitch throws it to a sideline judge while Foles throws it for a 95 yard TD.

The broader point here is the absurdity of thinking things would be any different under Mitch. We've all seen that movie and it's bad. No one replaces a broken TV with one that also ends up being faulty and says "well, let's go back to the one that doesn't work." You throw both away.

And I realize this implies Foles is the same as (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky. While I think Foles is better than (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky, I will concede that he hasn't proved me right so far. But, again, nothing will change by moving to (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky. Foles' ceiling is higher because of his intelligence.

There is no throwing them both away this year. We are talking about this year, and (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is the best chance to have a successful season. Find a better quarterback for next year.

Why do you keep on saying nothing will change? 2019 (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is outperforming 2020 Foles by a significant margin. 2020 (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is outperforming Foles too though obviously a small sample size.

Your argument seems to be to cross your fingers and hope that Foles remembers how to play like he did a long time ago. It could work but it also may put the Bears out of the playoffs.

It seems like they would see greater success going with an uptempo game, where Foles can play to his (only) strength of quickly diagnosing defenses and making quick adjustments. Instead, Nagy calls for a huddle because he thinks he has a good play of his own and things grind to a halt or they end up with formation penalties and wasted timeouts.

as I've said before I'd start Mitch the next two games, keep Foles free of injury (they ain't winning either of these next two games) and then bring Nick back for the rest of the season. They'll make the playoffs, Nick stays healthy, Mitch removes all doubt as to whether he's an NFL QB, everybody wins.

Saying Foles is better than Mitch is not a terrible thought.

Saying (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is better because of "running," even though he hasn't run in two years, is a terrible thought.

If we had a competent head coach we would play to the strengths of the QB we have. There is no doubt if McVay was stuck with Mitch and Nick he would get more out of the Bears offense.
