It's getting hard to remain a pro football fan when the daily national discussion is often dominated by talk of tanking for a higher draft pick less than halfway through the season. And the locals are stuck in a discussion of which crappy QB is the less bad option.

yeah, it seems the NFL tanking culture has become more competitive. It's happened before, but seems there are more teams making the attempt.

Teams like the Bears, Cowboys, and Washington Football Team are too incompetent to even tank the right way. The NFL product has gotten pretty bad. Part of that is tanking, but idiot ownership and decision making (which has been around longer than tanking) has stayed constant.

That's not the whole NFL though. There's always 6-8 terrible teams, this year four of them just happen to be in the same division.

The 1-6 Falcons went on the road and got a win yesterday against a team people thought would make the playoffs just a couple of weeks ago.

NFL is basically tank-proof. It's way too physical of a sport to play while giving less than 100%, careers are too short, contracts aren't guaranteed. Every year people seem to pick the wrong "tanking" team too. Last year it was the Dolphins, who finished 5-11. This year it was supposed to be the Jaguars who were tanking for Trevor, and then they came out and beat the Colts in Week 1.

I'm just glad that Miami and the Pittsburgh Baltimore games are noon starts.

Pittsburgh is easily my favorite team to watch this season. Both sides of the ball excellence and creativity.

I oddly love it. It reminds me of a friend's laugh. Once she heard something really funny it was a wrap. I could laugh at her until my sides hurt. She'd almost get pissed as she started crying and couldn't stop.

And yeah, she loves her football.
