Hahn is incredibly replaceable. He got us into this mess in the first place...or was that KW?

Hahn's entire existence at the White Sox has included the public not knowing exactly what should be attributed to him or others.

There are only 32 GM jobs and this is one he can have for life. I think he will stay.

This speaks volumes to your knowledge (or lack thereof) regarding baseball. Hahn would have another job in a heartbeat if he left the Sox. Look at the position he has put this team in due to the rebuild.

Ah yes, somebody that is "incredibly replaceable" would be rehired in a heartbeat for job that is occupied by 30 people in the entire world. (I know you stated there are 32 GMs, but you are wrong yet again. 30 MLB teams buster)

That's not really ageism. It's just a fact with old people. Biden is probably senile. It's not really ageism to suggest he shouldn't be president.

Except many people in their 80s are sharp and vibrant.

Some seem to lose their sharpness much earlier.

Mel Brooks is in his 90's and is still sharp as a tack.

So, I didn't, you just inferred that I meant it. Don't worry, no one will think less of you if you say you are wrong instead of trying to cover it with bluster.

Nah, Hahn is incredibly replaceable. Anyone can throw together a wild card team after dealing their star players for prospects and intentionally sucking for a few years.

I will say it is very amusing the new guy tried to imply those 30 earned the job on merit and are 30 of among the best in the world for the job. I don’t know baseball well enough to tear that apart but that’s comically wrong when it comes to the NBA and NFL

I've always liked Tony Larussa. Mostly because he's part Italian. "Paternal grandparents had emigrated from Sicily and his mother's family from Spain. He was raised in nearby Ybor City, Florida, where his parents had met while both were working in the local cigar factory". He comes from working class, and started from the bottom (unlike the Score's trust fund guys). He's also passionate, and can have a hot temper. I can only imagine he and the Hawk behind closed doors. His managing style can be frustrating. But, he wins.

He still believes socially what he believes. He toned it down to be able to play in the sandbox. He'll be honest socially again post Sox. I just don't picture him being a Roberts, Cash like puppet. He's going to demand excellence from players. He'll actually be pissed off after a loss which is passé for MLB managers.

I didn't like the move at first. It's growing on me. Even with his strong stubborn personality he's praised as a caring communicator by his players. Being an outsider to Hahn there's got to be friction between the two. It's only 2 years tops. I think it's going to be a fun 2 years.

I don't waste my time with the Score's (you must comply) poison pc views, or you're the devil. Murph should be on the air. He's missed. Not one local baseball go-to guy on Chicago sports radio is criminal.

Hinch was available. The GM damn near said it out loud that he wanted him. The owner said Fuck You and hired his geriatric buddy. Odds are both the owner and manager will be dead before Luis Robert's contract ends.

So what's the backup plan when LaRussa has health issues this year. Will we have a Sandy Alomar to fill in?

Wasn't Tony La Russa controversial as a manager his first time around with the Sox because he wasn't a grizzled old baseball man who chewed tobacco and farted sunflower seeds? He was young and had new and scary ways of thinking, and he even had a law degree. Talk about living long enough to see yourself become the villain.

Seems okay. Been a pitching coach for Oakland and Boston, pitched for LaRussa in Oakland.

Sort of like Garry Meier hosting afternoon drive on WGN.

Some players tried to blame for the collapse in Boston, but it says more about them than him. Seemed like he did an ok job in Oakland
