I'll go back to the college/NFL football season last year. He was doing transition with Mac and Parkins. They asked him how he did over the weekend.

Joe said he went 25-15. Something close to that. He won. Jesus Christ, though, you're betting that many games. Who the fuck bets that many games? Especially on his salary.

His thing at the SCORE is to be the gambling expert. He's often said his wife makes more money then him. Thank God. Cuz he's got a couple of kids.

I just think he loves gambling too much by the way he talks about it. I'm no saint. I pretty much do NFL gambling. I've got no kids or a wife, however. It seems like Joe O will bet on anything.

And you lose at this shit pretty much always. I mean your career in gambling is always a loss.

My advice to Joe: Take an easy with the gambling, Pollack (I'm half Polish. I'm allowed).

He does have a gambling show on the sytion.

But saying he has a gambling problem without actual knowledge of it is over the line.

A guy who makes 35k tops a year raising kids obsessed with gambling. Not a good scenario.

True, we set the line at +250 that he has a gambling problem. No gambling problem is the favorite in this bet.

There's no such thing as a gambling problem. There's only a losing problem.

I said "I think he has a gambling problem". "I think" is key. Never reported it as fact.

But I think I'm right.

Totally. Its like when people say they think you have a human being chained to your furnace.
We think we're right.

He was co-hosting a gambling podcast a few years ago with a buddy of his who used to be at The Game. He just likes talking about it as gambling is a good window into national sports talk without going down the B&G jack off to some dumb WC NBA match-up route.

The sound quality of his show is poor.

He also doesn't have much of a personality, has creaky voice/vocal fry, and spends most of his show talking about gambling, a subject in which I am not interested.

Aside from those things, his show is fine.

Didn't he used to have a gambling show with Parkins and another host of undetermined gender? I think the latter person is named Nicky, but I wasn't if that was short for Nicholas or Nicole because the person's voice sounds like it could be a somewhat effeminate sounding man or a masculine sounding woman.

Very odd exchange between Ostrowski and David Ross. Ostrowski trying to be cute, but Ross didn't seem too thrilled with the smartass question.

Ostrowski- Speaking of relationships David. Is Rizzo going to be in the lineup for the exhibition finale?
Ross- What does that have to do with relationships?

Nick Kostos. And that’s not at all how he sounds. That’s just you thinking about effeminate men.

He’s more like Gary Vee on crack, which is really saying something.

Cracks me up. I know they have to have him do something.

So the Cubs now have a 1 hour pregame show on the SCORE. With that, they give fucking Joe a ten minute show when they have their night games. Pregame starts at 6:10 or so.

So he does his gambling show for ten minutes.

Joe: Bet this. Bet that. Take the over here. Take the under here. Here's a good prop bet. Ok. That's it for the show. Cubs pregame up next.

I'm going back to this.

I'm driving around tonight. Joe is on. He's getting all excited about how the line changed for Trump winning the election at about 8pm or whatever.

Christ, must you bet on everything, Joe?

I know Joe is the gambling guy at the SCORE. That's his nitch. I guess he has a podcast on Radio.com that's all about gambling. He does a daily show. I've heard him promote it.

But it's just too much. He loves it too much. And it's not like he's rich. The podcast and these few shifts at the SCORE isn't making him much money. I know that.

I just know he's gotta wife and two kids. I feel bad for them. Cuz Joe isn't winning more than he loses.

Any money he makes by getting paid to talk about gambling, I'm sure he gives half of it back by gambling.

I'm just saying, gambling, gambling, gambling is all I get from him when I hear him.

One of his friends at the SCORE should try to help him with this shit. It has to be a problem.

Then again, SCORE guys aren't really friends with each other. It's pretend friendships, so they won't.

Which I get. I'm pretend friends with people I need to be pretend friends with as well.

Just an observation about my Polish brother, Joe Ostrowski. (I'm only half Polish, though. Thank god)

like a lot of people he bet on sports gambling becoming a huge thing once it became legal in illinois. he clearly thought it was in his best interests to be the sports gambling expert at the station. was that too hard for you to figure out beardown?

if you're disciplined and bet within your means it's not a big deal.

To Joe's credit, he had a bet before the season began on the Vikings finishing fourth in the NFC North. I happened to hear it while I was driving to O'Hare.

As of today, he looks good on it.

He got some pretty lengthy odds on it as well, far more than 3-1 randomness. Might have been 10 or 15-1.

I would be hedging that bet this weekend when the Lions play the Vikings.
