What is the biggest difference tomorrow with Nagy not calling plays?

I'm going to miss the "I consulted with myself and decided I'm not going to hand off playcalling duties to someone else" post-game press conference remarks.

Dangerous game for the Nagy regime, if Lazor come in and calls a better game it really makes one question why in the hell you need to keep Nagy around.

If guys they had designated as backups end up playing better than the guys they evaluated as starters makes one question why in the hell you need to keep Pace around. Reading quite a bit from Olin lately about how Mustipher outplayed the starter at center because Whitehair cannot make the line calls, and how the brain trust completely screwed up by not keeping Daniels at center. Find it odd that other teams are able to bring in veteran players and they are contributing within a week, but Bears cannot get Lamar Miller up to speed for several weeks. If Miller comes in and outplays Montgomery it will spotlight yet another evaluation failure by Pace/Nagy, these guys just cannot identify offensive talent. This goes all the way back to Pace watching Mahomes and Mitch and being the only guy in the world that actually thought Mitch was a better prospect.

I'm a huge Mitch critic but even I recognize that this is just totally wrong. It actually could not be any more wrongheaded than the way you put it.

Miller is coming off a pretty major knee injury. I'd like to see him get 10-15 touches tonight

Do you actually watch football? Hmm..Ok, this should be basic enough for you to understand. If you watch Mitch and Mahomes throw a football watch how the ball comes out of each players hand, even someone with the most basic level of football acumen will be able to instantly see a marked difference in the raw talent level between the players, and raw arm talent level between the players.

Picking an odd hill to die on my friend.

I think you're failing to realize how you're making stuff up. I specifically mean this:
Quote:
This goes all the way back to Pace watching Mahomes and Mitch and being the only guy in the world that actually thought Mitch was a better prospect

As everyone knows, the class of 2017 had no clear frontrunner for best QB prospect. Some reputable publications even rated Deshone Kizer as no. 1. Watson had the best pedigree, there were questions about Mahomes' ability to transition to pro systems, and (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was raw.

ESPN had it as follows:

Watson
(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky
Mahomes

https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2017/stor ... ff-legwold

There are MANY others that had it both similar and different, hence no clear consensus, hence why Pace "being the only guy in the world that actually thought Mitch was a better prospect" is wrong.

Mahomes wasn't even the 2nd quarterback taken, and 9 players were taken ahead of him.

If anyone in the league thought he was going to be this good then no way he goes at pick 10 and that includes the Chiefs who wouldn't have risked two other teams in need of quarterbacks choosing him.

yeah claw is way over his head here.

Pace was not the only person around that thought the way that he did during that draft. In fact most people had Mahomes below the other guys in that draft.

Obviously looking back on it the decision was completely stupid, but no one thought Mahomes was going to be this good....otherwise he would have been the consensus #1 pick

hindsight is always 20-20

Again, picking an odd hill to die on. Pace had a gut feeling that Mitch was the guy, when you use ESPN and "draft experts" as your draft guide you end up picking guys like Mitch/White'Floyd/Shaheen and end up having to reboot your franchise with great regularity.

Pace is a goober. He signed a goober to lead at the most important position, and then he drafted one. There is not a chance in hell that Pace thought of obtaining Nick Foles. It came from Nagy...or Foles.

Your argument is only valid if you felt the same way about Mitch vs Mahomes before the draft. If you did, hats off. I wish you were at the controls instead of Pace. If not, you're just being revisionist.

Bears win this game because they'll put 8 in the box to stop Cook and Kirk Cousins blows.

A little false hope won't hurt the meatballs. :D

Even Hub has said he only questioned on draft day the Bears taking Mitch over Watson, not Mahomes.
