Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I'd be pulling for Tony LaRussa. Go figure.

The people at Soxtalk have completed their transition to WSI II. They are taking cancel culture tactics trying to get him fired by contacting sponsors. Self important douches. In fact, I seem to remember the guy leading the charge as one of the WSI douches of old.

Are you the guy on there defending DUIs?

There's a lot of area between " defending DUI's" and calling for the guy to be fired because he got popped ( which Im guessing is whats going on over at Soxtalk).

And "he's an alcoholic who needs help and that he can't be forgiven, in that the crime is particularly heinous."

Knock down an old man standing in front of his small business before busting out the windows and looting his life's work: deserves a second chance.

Blow a .09: death penalty.

He's now working on his third chance.

No he does not deserve the death penalty. However, I would be troubled by any organization that hired a manager with a fresh DUI. If he is an employee you stick with him and get him counseling but why would you buy into it, especially with the quality of candidates who were soliciting the Sox for the job?

Yet Tony LaRussa is an untouchable because he did not fully embrace kneeling. And that's what all of this is really about.

No shit. He's been branded a RACIST. "Sir, do you now or have you ever disagreed with kneeling for the national anthem?"

Winston Churchill drank scotch for breakfast. He did alright. Benjamin Franklin wrote the Declaration drunk as hell. The couple posts above is what this is really about.

Breaking: the #WhiteSox are close to naming Ethan Katz pitching coach, official announcement coming within the next week or so

Katz is Lucas Giolito's HS/offseason pitching coach and is really well regarded within the industry. A+ hire

Who said LaRussa was the youngest manager? That's wrong. Boudreau was in his 20s. I'll bet Connie Mack was also.

I didnt see anyone saying that here. I said it's not easily forgiven because you were acting like he got caught littering. It's a serious crime but of course (almost) anything can be forgiven.

Are there people out there saying to throw him in jail?

It's a reasonable thing to question the wisdom of the hire in light of this.

Now that the charges have been dropped will the Score change the narrative to the cops unfairly harassing a Person of Color by pulling him over without cause?

I bet Bernstein is just seething right now. Good.

I figured as soon as the charges took a convoluted, circuitous route thru the legal system that any high profile lawyer would be able to get it thrown out on some kind of technicality, despite his blood being drawn and testing over the legal limit.

Okay. Shouldn't the cops have assisted a guy who had an accident with the curb rather than treating him with suspicion? Why did they treat him with suspicion? Would they have treated an obviously white man that way? I bet they thought LaRussa was Mexican. Probably thought he was illegal.

They may have assisted him, but once a cop runs a plate and sees a past DUI, if they have ANY reason to believe he might be impaired, they are going to conduct a FST. It’s just how it is.

I know. I'm just pointing out that Parkins and bernstein likely would have a different view of what happened if it were Herb Lawrence that had been in that situation rather than LaRussa. But again, it really isn't about LaRussa being a drunk or a repeat DUI offender. It's about him not supporting kneeling for the anthem.

So running a plate and finding previous stuff might cause a policeman to handle the encounter a certain way ? Interesting .
