I like Robinson a lot but I'm guessing he wants to be paid like Julio Jones and Michael Thomas when he isn't at that level.

No, I think he wants the financial security blanket of a signing bonus & longer term commitment to keep being this 7 win team's sole offensive weapon. Especially with a wildly inaccurate qb who's going to get someone like him maimed.

All the more reason NOT to pay him ( now anyway )

Sad to see you so worried about the leeches in the McCaskey extended family's passive income stream.

It sounds like the Bears have negotiated with him but they are off in the numbers. I would think he expects to be paid like a top WR in the league though and at least for now I don't think the Bears want him for that.

The Bears are also in line to franchise tag him and get a really good draft pick in return or multiple good ones by trade. I'd try and keep him but if he wants Julio Jones money then the picks may be the best option.

I still can't believe that the NFLPA was so willing to go along with these ridiculous tags.

Once in a great while, it makes sense to trade your best offensive or defensive player. This would not be one of those times.

This is all a great big old nothing burger.
This is the continuation of the trend to publicize contract negotiations. His agent is just agenting.
I suppose their hope is that the fans get all lathered up and force the Bears into an extension. Whatever.
As far as him being franchised, it sounds good, but knowing the bears the way we do would it utterly shock you to see them tag mitch? im joking but im not joking.

It's normally a decent deal for the franchise tagged player, though they obviously have to perform well again the next year. It says the franchise tag for next year for WR's will probably be around $18 million. Only 2 WR's make more than that this year and the salary cap is likely to suppress salaries a little because of COVID.

The one thing you can say about the Bears is that they will not be forced into making changes the fans want.

WTF is he talking about?

I'd re up ARob. 5 years @ 16 per.. He's only 26 and he's tough with great hands.

Cooper Kupp just signed for 3 and $49.

That's not a horrible comp considering injury, age and most recent production. I think Robinson is better.

Woods just signed 4-65.. He's much better than Woods.

Tarik Cohen just signed an extension. At what point does Robinson sit out and not risk injury?

He doesn't. This is good news for Robinson.
But I'm not really sure why we need Cohen at all. I dont think he's all that important.

Can anyone find a link to the the parody of the Sara McLaughlin song 'I will remember you" with the montage of ARob catches that his Agent Brandon Parker re-tweeted and then deleted?

Mu buddy just told me about it but I can't find it anywhere.

It's on Nick as well. Miller had a few steps on those defenders to win the game and Foles overthrew him. His throws sailed most of the night.

"No QB could have success behind that OL"

Well...the failures the OL are pretty well documented, both locally and nationally. Not excusing horrid play from Foles but he's not wrong about the line.

The line looked far better with a quarterback who wasn't a statue back there.

Of course he's wrong about the line. Are you seriously suggesting Pat Mahomes would not have success behind that line? Not sure you thought this one out.

It's not just about the QB...we suck at the run game as well. Again, saying the line sucks shouldn't be a controversial thing at this point in the season.

It’s not a this or that debate.

The line is the worst I’ve ever seen at any level.

Yes Foles has proven to not be good, but Patrick Mahomes would most assuredly be injured by now playing behind this line as well.

We need to use all our draft picks on OL, and sign at least a couple top tier OL FAs.

Guys like him and Russell Wilson would still be MVP candidates behind that OL. Not saying the OL isn't trash, not saying OL isn't important, but the line I quoted from the agent sounds like it was said by somebody who doesn't understand football at all and/or loves to be hyperbolic. It's just a dumbass thing to say.
