I still want the full story behind the galaxy brained Schwarber at lead off idea from 2017.

IMO that whole traumatic experience stunted this guy’s growth.

Oh well.

I want the Maddon-Theo details behind, because it was painfully obvious after a week or two it was a horrible idea.

Somebody was pushing it after that.

More like Theo thought he was the next big thing and Maddon was like fuck you- let me prove it to you.

Hey man.

Humans have feelings and personalities.

MANY people nowadays don’t have the proper coping mechanisms to deal with constant frustration.

I can only imagine the frustration is 100x worse when you’re a pro athlete playing in a major market.

I don’t feel sorry for him.

Just an opinion.

Very easy to just tack this on to Theo's outgoing legacy.
Good player, not great He'll be a nice pick up at DH for a number of teams.

it will be fun to see who the Cubs choose to DH in his absence
Watching Schwarber play the outfield was like watching Devin Hester attempt WR...bad.

I think Brogue has already dispelled this myth.

He has a plus arm in the outfield, but yeah getting to the ball was an issue more than you’d like to see.

I always thought him trying to be a respectable fielder and losing all that accumulated mass hurt him as a hitter. Granted I’m basing that on nothing, but fat guys seem like better hitters.

At this point I think he should aspire to be Matt Fuckin Stairs.

I think taking walks fucked all these guys up, you don't see Abreu looking for walks..hes swinging at pitches 3 or 4 inches out of the zone to get the ball in play..swing away, not like Baez, have a lil discipline but don't leave it up to the ump. It seemed like the best pitch of an at bat was pitch 1 fastball down the middle and KS watched it hit the mit.

I’ve heard somewhere that you can’t walk your way off an island.

 He’s been playing a sport in which even if you’re great you fail 70% of the time but yeah , the trauma of being a shitty lead off man ruined him .

Brogue

It’s hyperbole.

I don’t think he’s crying into a body pillow every night.

The Orioles should take a chance on him, 1 year and an option. Let him play twice a week in LF and three times a week at DH, and if he rebounds then trade him to a contender at the deadline.

But it was time for him to leave Chicago.

Also, if Brian Goodwin can still play CF defensively, I'd like to see him as the 5th OF.

How many waves of talent are left? Haap? Baez and Rizzo not Theo Cub drafts.

Would you call the Cubs a success the past 6 years?

It is kind of funny that "Babe Ruth" got cut by the Cubs.

That was Theo's and Jed's name for him.

They missed. Which is fine. Everybody misses on guys.

But you can't call a guy "Babe Ruth" and miss by that much.

So Jed needs to learn to be easy with the nicknames when he drafts players. The comparisons. Don't do it.

Say what you will about Pace, he never called Mitch "Tom Brady" when he drafted him.
