Laurence stop. He already has a nickname like that it was given to him months ago by Boers and Bernstein it's Reed Mantle.

I liked your show for awhile but your too gimmicky stop it. I fear it will only get worse when Hampton joins the show on a full time basis.

Can't listen even I he wanted to. Is he playing this up like he's a genious for this bit. Like it's amazing to come up with goofy nicknames for the average player. Like he's the first guy to do it. Is that how he's playing this bit?

Larry - Hi, I'm Larry, welcome to the show. Today I'm going to do something that will floor you. You'll be amazed. You'll love it. Ok. Here it goes. I'm gonna call Reed Johnson Babe Johnson. Get it? Get it? Seriously, you probably don't. I'll explain. He's the average player who gets big hits. So, I'm gonna call him Babe Johnson. After Babe Ruth. You know. The great MLB guy from the 1920s. Holy cow!!! I am awesome!!!! Do you see the joke? Cuz, of course, he's not Babe Ruth but guess what? That's what makes it so hilarious. Do you get it? Do you get it? How hard are you laughing right now? Isn't this so original? Call me up and tell me how great this joke is.

Did it go something like that?

He wanted callers to text in to the show on the new nickname Babe Johnson or Reed Ruth. He came up with this gimmick because one of the Score Employees was wearing a Reed johnson shirt.

I texted in "he already has a nickname its Reed Mantle try listening to your own station".

He was very excited about the segment and was using his giddy voice to promote it.

I like the song of the day, the pulse is the dumbest thing out there its just taking calls, but their bothe original. But this, come on! Your ripping off material from co workers most places you'd be fired for that.

Larry does listen to B&B. That's exacly why he did this bit. Cuz they did it first.

Only, B&B just did it in passing. Larry has to make a stupid bit out of it.

Larry - In 5 minutes, I'm going to try a new bit out. I'm really, really excited about it. I think you are going to be excited about it too. I want to tell you about it now. Now, I'm going to tell you about. It's exciting. In 4 minutes, I want you to call in on my new segment,

"Who are you trying to fool with your hypocritical statement about sports and/or politics because we were not fooled by your hypocrisy?" It's in 3 minutes and I'm very excited by it.

And then Larry said the new segment will be called What Are You Talkin About Willis?!

Is it me, or do the majority of callers to Larry's show ask Larry how he is, and congratulate
him for finally getting his own show in mid day?

Do the screeners tell the callers to lick Larry's ass before proceeding with their call?

I turn my radio on at 11am, and put it on quietly until Meatball Sandwich comes on. BLOOP.

Just glad now that Larry has his own mid day show, he won't be wasting FOUR hours of air time guesting with Dan when Terry is getting his fluids changed. He just wastes 2.

By the by, he KNOWS the subliminal song of the day is not really subliminal, he just likes the alliteration.

Laurence, you suck.

The Ruth comparison for a bench player is already taken by Mike Fontenot.

To submit a serious response to the Reed Johnson thing, why don't we call him "a very good platoon player who has given the Cubs a more productive center field than Jacque Jones or Felix Pie," which is what he is, instead of pretending he's become North Side Rowand and resenting him for being white? Too much to ask? I know it's a mouthful. He's a nice addition to the team. That's all.

I don't know where this contingent of Score listeners who are really happy for Laurence to get his own show are coming from, but they're there.

You know, Reed Johnson had some pretty decent years in Toronto. He's an OK ballplayer. He's not a "white nobody" with no talent. He's having a decent year with some big hits for the Cubs. Why do we have to act like he's a guy off the street doing this? Oh, cuz it's Larry and a stupid bit. That's why.

You're right. He's a really good 4th outfielder or an OK starting center fielder. He's ideal for a platoon situation. He's been hot as of late, but he was playing well even without this stretch. But we knew all of that before the season.

i really admire his hustle. he runs every ground ball out full tilt, and he seems to get really good jumps on balls hit to center. he is a solid player.

I still have nightmares about the Chicago Bulls playing in March Madness.
