Dan Wiederer was on with W & S. Wiederer is appalled by Bear's fans who think the team would of ruined Deshaun Watson or Patrick Mahomes if the Bears drafted them? It's been a thought with many great QBs through the years with the Bear's being a QB graveyard. I don't know how much. But, I believe being drafted by the Bears would be a negative influence on their careers with bad coaches, weak O lines, drafting busts.

Absolutely Yes.

Once this organization gets of the meatball Monsters of the Midway Defense bullshit, then maybe they will actually give a shit about developing QBs.

Maybe. But with that premise you are assuming Mitch becomes much better when he leaves after the year.

I dont think mahomes would have been the star he is now, but i also think watson would be better than mahomes if he was in KC.

The problem the bears have is their quarterback has no real accuracy. Its like when he hits his guy in stride we all marvel how lucky that was. Thats not coaching, thats bad genes.

No, they would have led the Bears to a Super Bowl last year.

I always assumed if top nfl QBs were drafted by the Bears they would of taken a beating getting sacked throughout their Bears careers. Cutler was adept at avoiding the first guy but still got his bell rung constantly. He'd be in rough shape throughout the game. Brady's career coincided with some horrendous backwards O Bears coaches and brutal Bears O lines. Brady in a ideal NE environment put with the Bear's with brutally inept franchise down periods would be an interesting study

I think Coach Hoodie has his eye on waiting for Darnold to get released.

Darnold won't be released. They'll get some type of pick for him. My bet is Pitt gets Darnold for a 4th or 5th to back up Ben for Ben's last year next year.

If that's all it will take, Pittsburgh's offer will have better competition than that.

One thing is certain - this has potential to be an absolutely wild offseason for QBs. I expect a lot of movement.

Which makes your team coming for Love all the worse in hindsight.

That's the exact wrong conclusion to draw from that

You can never put too many resources into the QB position. Very happy with my team's proactive approach to that.

All the more reason for the Bears to launch Pace/Nagy quickly, neither has show any ability whatsoever to identify/develop QB's.

There are likely several coaches that think they can develop Mitch, the rest of the league knows he has a well defined ceiling, but at the minimum he will cash backup QB checks for a long time.

Mitch's TD/int ratio 58/34 is almost 2/1. You'd think wow! This guy is good. But his rtg is so so 86 Cutler territory. Mitch's TD/int is fake because he is used safe mode. All dump offs, little threading up the middle, never precision sidelines, rarely deep, rarely leads receivers perfectly. One Bears QB in a line of many the coaches have zero faith in.
