Robinson to Packers. Imminent.

Doubtful. GB offered him the same money Chicago did when he was a FA and he said he didn't want to go to Green Bay. That's why I don't feel bad for him when people point out how bad his QBs have been throughout his career.

No one should ever feel sorry for a professional athlete on a bad team regardless.

He's not a #1 WR anymore.

Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

No point in having him around for the next two years because it's not like they are going to have a QB to throw to him.

He's not worth #1 receiver money.

Give him Adam Thielen money. If he takes it, great. If not oh well.

So we add #1 WR to the offseason list as well?

They've been looking for a #1 WR forever.

They can keep looking.

Yes I don’t understand either.

Especially when you consider who was throwing him the ball, and the high school level offensive line that doomed the offense all season.

He’ll look great on the Dolphins or Texans next season.

I don't hate him. He's a good receiver.

He just seems to get beat out on the 1 on 1 balls, and those are catches you expect a #1 to make.

Agreed. He is a number two on a good offense.

He is not a #1 receiver. He just looked like one because you have a quarterback who basically saw nobody else on the field. He's not a quick deep threat and he's not particularly a scoring threat. He had what 6 TD all season? He had 2 in that Packers game which basically means he scored in only 5 games this season. In the last two seasons combined he's scored less than his single season total in his second year with the Jags.
Hes a bad quarterback's woobie. Thats why he has over 100 receptions.
Maybe with a good quarterback he's a #1 but here with the bears the stats don't show that.

Come on continent.

Who’s going to replace him?

Great receiver and a great teammate. He just isn't an elite receiver but he wants to be paid like one. He gives you nothing after the catch. He can't go deep. He gets little separation. I think very highly of him but he is a guy you can take out of the game with defensive planning because of his style of play. Great teams use TE to do what Robinson does.

He would be signed by now if he was asking for reasonable money

My oldest son put it best.

He's a 1B, not a 1A.

That's true, but weve only seen him with sub par QBs.

It also depends on what exactly the Bears think they are next year. Are they rebuilding or not? Foles isn't the future though he may be the opening day starter. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is off to New England. Are you going to pay Allen Robinson $20 million a year that he thinks he deserves?

Thats why that BS expanded playoff beatdown fucked us, now Pace and Nagy are coaching for their careers instead of fired. Pace will overspend and extend contracts with backloaded money to improve roster.

He wins those too tho. Not only that but for most of the year he was the only thing defenses had to gameplan for and he still produced.

He’s definitely a #1, but that doesn’t mean he is the best #1 in the NFL. I think this distinction is where the discussion needs to take place. He’s a great route runner, has great hands, can be clutch but doesn’t have elite speed. The Bears need to keep building their O-line and find the QB of the future (imo they need to draft a QB this year in either the 1st or 2nd round). That said, they need to keep the good skill position guys that they already have and A-Rob is a legit part of that.

If not, then what’s the point? Blow it all up (front office and coaches included) and start all over again. And it doesn’t look like that is happening.

I'm fine with overpaying for a guy that produces. The team has plenty of overpaid guys that don't.

Is there a compensatory pick if he signs elsewhere? Guys that the Bears pay tend to decline rapidly as soon as they cash the first check.
