More likely they win out with the Packers taking week 17 off. Then the Cardinals also win out so we get a 9-7 team drafting like 20th in the first round.

Packers are going to get a bye. You don’t sit your starters 2 weeks in a row heading into the playoffs. Packers are going to look to embarrass the Bears again. Pretty sure they will succeed also. 8-8 with no playoffs but we get Pace and Nagy back.

And Mitch.

Looks like these are the two paths:
Bears win final 2. Bucs lose final 2.
Bears win final 2 and Cardinals lose 1 or Bears win 1 more game and the Cardinals lose both games.

highly doubtful Bucs lose the last 2 with it being the Lions and Falcons.

Cardinals have SF and Rams. It is possible they lose one of those. But they will prob run into a situation like the Bears where the Rams do not have anything to play for the last week.

If the Rams beat Seattle they are playing for the division in the last week of the year. If they lose then the Rams and Cardinals are both 9-6 and the Cardinals jump them with seeding with a win.

Cardinals are going to lose both of these next two games and the Bears will have a spot locked up before the Packer game kicks off.

However, you aren't a real playoff team when your strategy includes the other team sitting its best players

You watch, douchebag Nagy will go into the Packer game with the offensive strategy to throw the ball and this team will be done in the first half.

You also aren't a real playoff team when the only pass plays your starting QB can complete on a consistent basis come out of roll outs.

I don't think the Bears would get past the Divisional Round, but they could beat anybody they might matchup against in the Wild Card round.

potentially, a playoff spot.

Bears go 2-0 and they are in regardless of what anybody else does.
Bears go 1-1 and they are in if Arizona loses to the Rams next Sunday.

Bears in the playoffs will be entertaining at least. They took New Orleans to overtime before the offense showed it could run the ball. Hope to see the rematch.

In that game against New Orleans, the aints were playing defensive backs that were bagging groceries the previous week.

Makes you wonder what the record would be if they had forced Nagy to give up play calling earlier, or if they just would have fired Nagy and had Pagano take over as HC and given the offense over to Lazor.

There is a definite shift in offensive philosophy with Lazor, it actually looks like a professional offense that understands you cannot just line up in shotgun every play and run RPO, you actually have to use different formations and shockingly, you can have success if give your RB1 15-20 carries.

The ongoing inability to recognize who the best players are on offense, especially on the Oline, and to be totally unable to figure out how to call and run plays that take advantage of your players strengths while minimizing their weaknesses is a trait that will put a definite ceiling on Nagy/Pace for the remainder of their tenure.

Let's see this offense work on a team that doesn't suck, when is the last time Mitch beat a team over .500

Unless the Rams can come back vs the Seahawks, you better pray for a Green Bay win tonight, other wise the Bears will be playing a Packers team still looking to win in week 17 while the Cardinals will be playing a Rams team that will most likely rest all starters, locked into a Wild Card spot.

Nevermind Seattle owns the tiebreaker over the Packers. They are playing to win week 17, I don't know why people think they will mail it in the last week.

I don't want the Bears to play the B team to get in. Earn it.

Joe Buck just said if the Bears, Cards and Rams all finish 9-7, the Rams would be out.

And I wondered which producer told him that fable.

He just said it again.

How do the Bears get in with the same record as the Rams after having lost to them in the regular season?

My bad, Rams will have to play to win because if they lose and the Bears lose, Arizona is in. Rams look like shit to be honest, I think Cardinals roll them next week.

Three or More Clubs

Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants.

Rams lose and Bears win both AZ and Bears will have 3-3 division records and Rams will be 2-4. Can not believe they do not go by conference record in a 3 way tie.

there is something wrong w/ bears talent evaluation for several decades. i dont know if it's the same guys who have had the same job gm after gm / coach after coach. I dont know how it works in the NFL. Is it like MLB where the team has the same scouts employed for 30 years?
