No.

Mitch and the offensive line were the problem all 16 games.

Mack was a top 3 defensive player, he was supposed to be a difference maker.

It’s a little bizarre that so many people act like he’s not paid like a starting QB. “He wasn’t terrible so he’s not the problem”. Willfully stupid.

This has nothing to do with Mitch, Nagy, Pace, O-line or anyone else. When you make a guy the highest paid defender in NFL history, you expect him to be an impact player. Mack wasn't an impact player this season. He was simply good. He was invisible MANY games. The Vikings backups pushed him around. That's not acceptable for the highest paid defender in the league.

I guess, but it doesn’t matter to me.

The defense was still 4th in pts allowed, and top 10 in yards allowed.

Mitch is no Trent Dilfer, and the offense wasn’t getting past wild card weekend anyway.

Your complaint is largely irrelevant.

You're worried about why (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky sucked but not why the highest paid defensive player in NFL history was just good and was absent in MANY games. That's ass backwards. Regardless of what the offense does, Mack has to be an impact player.

You've already correctly stated that the offense was to blame for the poor season so not sure why you're commiting treason here by parroting talking points from bored Raiders and Packers fans.

The offense was the reason the Bears were 8-8 along with Nagy. That doesn't mean that Mack couldn't have played better. His play wasn't acceptable for his talent and contract.

I accept Nas’ criticism of Mack, but given how the defense was still outstanding in a down year for Khalil his complaint remains largely irrelevant.

Especially when you look at the other side of the ball.

Hard to argue.

In hindsight he really has been more of a follower than a leader in his career.

Would you not have traded your last two first round picks for Mack?

I would have wanted to at the time. In hindsight it would have sucked to give Mack $20+ million a year when we got Za’Darius for $15 million a year and no draft pick compensation

Packers are probably Super Bowl favorites with Mack right now.

There were at least two games and maybe more where, if the defense did their job in the 4th, the game would have been won. It was good but just wasn't as fierce, which falls squarely on the shoulders of the guy who couldn't get to the QB.

Chargers game was lost because Mitch put the ball on the turf twice in the 4th quarter.

No he wasn't as good as Za'Darius, and I find it amusing that you think he is so much better than Za'Darius that he would move a point spread by 7.5 points.

I put that game on special teams, the D had it won.

I'm using the idea that Mack didn't try the last 12 games and was still nearly as good. Imagine if he tried!

You are right not complicated.

"Competed for a Super Bowl?"

They didn't even win a single playoff game.

I think that the loss of Hicks cannot be understated as to why the over-all defense wasn't as good as last season. Some will disagree with me but I think that Mack had teams game planning the shit to take care of Mack either by diagramming plays around him or making sure that they had two or three players specifically charged with blocking him. Goldman, to me was a disappointment also all season also.

Do they move Mack around or is he doing the same thing every play? He looks like a RE in a 4-3, but they play 3-4. I'm confused.

But over the course of two years, the Bears are still up. If you want to ignore last years results that is fine, but it does not change the total picture right now.

Year 1 Bears Playoffs. Raiders Crap.

Year 2 Bears Crap. Raiders Crap.

If Mack retired tomorrow it would be a good trade!

UPDATE:
Year 1 Bears Playoffs. Raiders Crap.

Year 2 Bears Crap. Raiders Crap.

Year 3 Bears Playoffs. Raiders Crap.

Overall record since the Mack trade:
Bears 28-21(probably 28-22)
Raiders 19-29

Maybe Year 4 will be kind to the RAIDERS but if Mack retired after this season it certainly would be a good trade.
