Pagano is 100% gone, I'm surprised it's not announced already, unless canning Nagy and the entire staff is on the table. Mack is 26 million in dead money next year, so you better troll the ranks to find some 3-4 defensive whiz to figure out how to make this guy somewhat appear in the stat sheet next year. I was really hoping Fangio would be out in Denver so we could get a reunion, but for someone unknown reason, he will suffer 1 more year as a head coach before he can return to his natural role as a defensive coordinator (Peter Principle).

Bring in Wade Phillips.

Do not draft a qb or trade any picks. Let this thing go to shit next fall like it is expected to do. New regime will be able to start fresh in 22.

Fuck this cheap ass ownership.

What defensive coordinator are you gonna get to come for maybe a one year deal?

I called it...Pagano is the only casualty, though they made it a “retirement.”

Cocksuckers.

Just as predicted thus far. It was a COVID season. Still made the playoffs. Look at Nagy's overall record. They don't even need to hold the press conference.

Very predictable, the only silver lining is both those clowns are gone in less than 365 days..
5-11 next season and still not a single playoff win under these inept dopes.

I guess George is giving them one more year to find a veteran QB who can score 27 points a game. No way Mitch is coming back. Nagy lost confidence in him a long time ago.

The list of ufa qbs is horrible. It’s Dak Prescott and then a bunch of geezers. You could take a chance on Cam I guess but why would you? If Pace and Nagy are back then so is Mitch - hoping to regain the magic from 2 years ago. They sink or swim together.

The only people happy that Pace is coming back are the other NFL GM's because they know he's gonna be willing to give up whatever future picks he needs to in order to win next year to keep his job.

Not sure who is advising George, but the fact that this is the solution he came up with does not bode well for the future of the franchise. The franchise is in urgent need of a football czar to chart some type of direction for the franchise, it is just drifting rudderless right now.

Any word on Phillips?

I'd consider it a movement in the right direction if they got a president of football operations in who has his list of GM and coaches he wants to hire for the 2022 season. Then, we can be one of those teams that cuts bait during the season and gets the early jump on interviewing and hiring.

Biggs suggested the possibility (however small) of something regarding Phillips, since the Bears might have already put out a release if there were no other changes coming. I wouldn't hold my breath.

They have to do something other than just pushing Pagano to retirement. Phillips has to be gone. It would be a step in the right direction.

Next year is going to be brutal... Nagy and Pace are going to be in desperate win now mode, no telling what they might do.

They could create some bs job title that doesn't include the word football in it. They are loyal to him and supposedly made them money. People insist he doesn't get involved in football decisions but every once in a while you hear a quote that reveals he is, in fact, involved.

The guy is an accountant with no football background yet the grandchildren of the founding father of the league defer to him.

Apparently a news conference later this morning including McCaskey, Phillips, Pace and Nagy.
