A painful listen, readily apparently that George is completely clueless and in desperate need of advice from someone that actually knows something about professional football. Despite guys like Hub claiming the Phillips has no real influence, it is obvious that Phillips has heavy influence in football decisions, likely a huge reason that the team is consistently mired in mediocracy and is a laughing stock leaguewide.

Nothing will change with this organization until they completely destroy the current structure. It is maddening to listen to the thought process of upper management as a long time fan of the team.

What happens when Virginia dies? Do they have to sell or is there some type of transition in place?

Exactly, if I own another NFL team I'm telling them everything is great and no changes need to be made and to bring Mitch back, then quickly calling my GM to see if he can fleece a few draft picks out of Pace.

I've heard that a lot of the family wants to sell because their wealth is all tied up in equity in the team.

Yeah, I think a blind monkey would have made them just as much money with the NFL's dominance and national TV money.

Time to change the sub title from “NOT TED” to “DEFINITELY TED”.

I don’t think I will have that much longer to wait on the season ticket waiting list now with COVID and this disgrace of a press conference. This is a solid third behind the McGinnis fiasco and the not making changes for the sake of change presser.

Can’t agree more. What did the Blackhawks do when they were the darling of Chicago sports? They opened up pop up stores to sell merchandise..money that went directly into their pockets and not shared with the other 30 (at the time) NHL clubs. The Bears, even in the 80’s heyday, never had the business acumen or imagination to do this. John McDonough may not know what a zone blitz is..but he could sure as hell turn that franchise into a serious moneymaker..if that’s what the McCaskeys want. All Sweaty Teddy has done for them is got them into a terrible stadium situation and made Hyundai the official car of the Chicago Bears

and that stadium deal is cited as the source of Ted Phillips strength in the organization

Forbes noted in their valuation of the Bears that it was actually undervalued due to mismanagement

It's gotten so bad that I'm starting to feel bad for you guys. I quietly hoped that when Pat Ryan increased his share of the team the McCaskey family and way they do business would be flushed. Sadly it's been worse.

No, it's in earnest. There just has to be something entertaining...or at least not boring af around here.

First generation builds the business, second generation falls to a grabber, detour to a new plan for second generation, with an incompetent, albeit well-meaning immortal in charge, who allows the third generation of fail-sons to run the business into the ground.

Tale as old as as time.

Leila completely correct on calling bs on the "we don't talk about players contracts" excuse for not saying how long their (Pace/Nagy) contracts are. Contract length for players are always made public.
