A couple of suckfests that need to be quickly forgotten.

The Cubs can't lose to the bottom feeders of Allan H. Selig's Major League Baseball in the Washington Nationals, while the White Sox better find a way to solve Scott Kazmir & the Tampa Bay Rays tomorrow afternoon on FOX Sports' "Saturday Baseball". I think Joe Buck, Tim McCarver & FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal might be calling that one, especially considering Joe & Troy Aikman called that piece of crap between the Bears & 49ers in the NFL Preseason...

The Cubs can afford bad loses. Even vs weak teams. Cubs are in the playoffs.

Sox can't afford it. They're in a 5 week fight right now.

At the Sock has an excuse, they were playing an actual major league baseball team.
The fucking Cub gave up 13 runs to a goddamn pony-league team

Jesus Christ!!!

So much for that tough road trip that jack asses like me have been talking about.

Twins are playing the best team in MLB. They are up 5-0 in the 6th vs the Angels. They'll have taken the first 2 of a four game series. They just guarenteed a split vs the mighty Angels.

Fuck me and fuck the Twins.

The Sox split a 4 gamer out in LA back in May.

The Twins will end this road trip 3 games behind the Sox.

How many games do the Sox and Twins have left against each other?

Hopefully. You just have to hand it to those Twins. Jeez. Hopefully they run out of gas. But we thought that in 2004. It was the more talented Sox that ran out of gas.

Granted, Mags and Big Frank got hurt late in the year. Doesn't take anything away from the Twins.

Sox just have 3 more vs the Twins. 2nd to last series of the season. It's at the dome.

Sox have 3 left with the Twins in Minnesota the 23rd-25th of September. But they had best be focused on the next 2 with these Rays. Kazmir is a terriffic pitcher and Sonnanstine is not going to be a cake-walk either.

Why don't you worry about pitching around the mighty Willie Harris and keeping the Nats under 10 runs.

No shame in the Sox losing 2 of 3 to the Rays, but I think they win today and tommorow. Twins will lose the last 2 in LA.

you almost don't want to see the bullpen come in after vazquez has done such a good job dismantling this offense...this has been a really good game. i'm glad i have it on mute too...i don't want to know how bad the broadcast is...

Fuck this. Figures. Now the fuckin rain comes as we lose the god damn lead. We'll probably have to sit through a 2 hour rain delay before we end up losing.

Vazquez line looks like shit now. 4 earned runs through 7 innings. After having a no hitter for 6.2.

Real bad. Ozzie had to stay with the starter too long the last 2 nights because he doesn't have a reliable set-up man. That hillbilly bastard better get back soon.

What's the word on Linebrink anyways?

Is he ever coming back?

Linebrink has been throwing side sessions. I think maybe a week to 10 days.

This is twice this month we've had a pitcher throw a no hitter for 6+ innings and that pitcher loses the game.

That's tough to do.

Thumbs down to me, folks. FOX Sports sent Josh Lewin & Eric Karros to U.S. Cellular Field, not Joe Buck, Tim McCarver & FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal to watch the Rays & White Sox. I'm sorry! Josh sucked when he was here, calling the middle 3 innings of Cubs' baseball many years ago, and couldn't hold Harry Caray's mike. For the kind of $$$$ FOX is spending on MLB, why the Cubs would get Joe & Tim and the Sox would get Josh & Eric today, and Glen Kuiper (?) & Leo Mazzone last Saturday in Oakland...Not good. I'm reasonably sure FOX will send its "A" team to Wrigley next Saturday when the Cubs host the Phillies....

Thats unfortunate... Well, maybe they can at least avoid the sweep against Sonnanstine tomorrow. Maybe...

It was unfortunate for the Sox today. Thanks for the empathy, Steve.

Cubs have had "unfortunate" said of them for 100 years.

is Joe Buck doing football already? Since Fox had preseason games Friday and Satruday night, I am guessing yes.

I think you can pin these 2 losses on Ozzie. Yeah the pen didn't help, but Danks should not have started the 7th inning on Friday, and Vazquez shouldn't have started the 8th yesterday. Maybe if the pen comes in with nobody on base, its a different story.

Thornton and Dotel have been inconsistent lately. Dotel has allowed six home runs since July 30.
Starting Aug. 2, Thornton has allowed 5 earned runs, two homers, five walks -- including walking the bases loaded two Sundays ago against the Carmines.
The bullpen is falling apart, and that's Ozzie's fault.
