Feels way to volitile to get on either side of an option at this point.

My biggest problem with options is the inability to get an order filled. The bid/asks are so unreliable.

This company (GME) is crap, so eventually the shares will fall back down. But it’s an expensive trade. I have been reading up on Melvin. Apparently the founder is a former SAC trader, so thus the Point72 connection with Cohen. Melvin’s issue is leverage, so I suspect the capital put in will hold off the margin calls. I would love to see this sink them.

The market was moving so fast today that the bid asks were changing from moment to moment.

I have no idea if any of this is true but it's pretty fascinating.

It is. There was a pretty extensive Atlantic story about it a few months back.

It's now 335.00 in premarket. The SEC apparently has no problem with this? LOL

Update: Let it all burn.

My son opened his first brokerage account a few weeks ago and is making a killing in GME options and stock. I’m trying to convince him this is not the way things usually (or ever) work, but who am I? We’ll see if he comes out of this positive, or broke.

I traded stocks for a year out of high school. Day trading started becoming big with Etrade's 9 dollar trades. Best I could do was break even. It's a fools game. You have to be super discipline and never get emotional.

Odd that they'd announce what they are doing, no?

I thought so because it is self serving. But those companies do it because they getting angry calls from their investors, and the quarterly news letter does not come out for a while.

Christian Bale's character from The Big Short is supposedly long the GME trade. Probably out by now though.

Looks like the next GME is BBBY (Bed Bath and Beyond). Up 20% in pre-market today.

I don’t. I inhabited all the stock message boards for years, Yahoo and Raging Bull mostly. They become cess pools quickly. Any rational analysis gets you attacked by anonymous idiots. It’s like an entire society of Hawaii You’s playing a game.

Investing is not a joke.

Shares of a handful of firms such as GameStop Corp. and BlackBerry Ltd. have posted triple-digit gains in recent weeks, part of a frenzy whipped up by individual investors. Here’s what you need to know.

Why is GameStop up?
Shares of GameStop are up more than sevenfold in 2021, compared with a 2.5% rise in the S&P 500. The Grapevine, Texas, videogames retailer has become a favorite of online traders who invest in companies championed on the Reddit forum WallStreetBets.

Seems like a matter of when, not if, but maybe it can hold out past end of week. It's at 300 now.

I am looking for a very painful overall market correction here in the next few months. The markets are not functioning properly and haven't been for some time. These crazy short-term bursts are just another symptom of games being played in a market where there are no ramifications because the Fed continues to artificially inflate it. When it bursts, it won't be good.

Of course, I hope and pray that I'm wrong, but I'm starting to stockpile VXX as a hedge.
