Kane is the greatest American who ever played the game; he'll always be worth more to the organization himself than anything he'd return. Frustrating in its way but it's a good problem to have. He's basically unbreakable, so hopefully he can spend the year padding his numbers and making the most of a bad situation before better times ahead.

I know his ridiculous spin o rama assist to kaner didn't count but Suter looks like he might be another outstanding Euro find. This year is absolutely all about development and then drafting. What the hell is going on with Toews though...Why 3 weeks later is everything still a mystery? Dustin Diamond will be healthy, diagnosed and dead before we hear a peep about tazer.

5 goals allowed in each of the three games. If they shut someone out this year, it'll be a miracle.

I like that they fought to tie it at 2 but then we just let Florida take it

Coming out of the second intermission, Foley is complaining about Hawks’ players not getting points for their assists. Fine, but Pat, I am worried about this team winning games rather than who gets credit for points.

Pat and Eddie’s act has worn thin with me.

Was wondering how long that would take in watching these games.

That Kane goal was ridiculous. Nice to see from line usage charts that Kurashev was moved up to a top 6 role and that Strome/Kane/Debrincat was broken up.

Two games against redwings coming up. If they can’t win one of those maybe they can go opposite of the 2013 season as far as no wins in regulation vs no loses record.

There will be a ton of games this year where Kane scores a pretty goal and the Hawks lose. Caught a few mins the other night and heard Foley lambasting one of the Hawks forwards for "skating away" and not even trying to win a corner battle. This team is tissue paper soft, you can see them fold whenever the opposition amps up the level of physical play.

Red Wings on tap.

The Hawks might be bad this year, but still being able to listen to Pat Foley makes it worth while.

Nice to see them win 2 but damn the wings look awful... still, better that some young guys have some success against shit teams than struggle vs shit teams.

He might still be better than Subban.

Darling won't even make the AHL roster. He'll probably hang them up after this PTO. He was planning on doing so if he doesn't make an AHL roster and said so on Red Line Radio during the offseason.

Darling never should have left the nest. Whatever support system he had here, he didn't have in Raleigh. At least he took them for a ton of money.

That's the suspicion, yeah. He played very poorly over a year and change, got demoted to the AHL, took a "leave of absence," and was bought out. (Played 'em like a card trick here: there are millions of dollars of difference between shitting up the joint in Charlotte for a few nights and getting terminated for failure to report.) Something went down. Goalies can have weird career trajectories, and his always was, but that was such fast attrition that it couldn't have just been a new coach and poorer players in front of him.

Boq and the Cat must have picked up the virus while getting some work done on their respective sleeves. I saw the last 2 games in their entirety and enjoyed them beating one of the worst teams I have ever seen assembled. Who the hell is Hagel? That guy can grind without getting penalties.

bernstein deservedly gets ragged on - but, i'll give credit to sjw dan for asking the question that jim rose in his kitchen or giangreco at the tanning salon won't ask; bernstein asked "what is wrong with toews"? not sure who the blackhawk reporter was, but the reporter started coughing and hummana-hummana and said there were unsubstantiated stories on the internet and ended up saying that he doesn't know.

today jay z on the score lamented that patrick kane didn't have a shot on goal last night against nashville. no surprise, i'm convinced kane has mailed in his career with the blackhawks. didn't seem the most motivated blackhawk on a tues night in january against a nashville - could be even more negatively affected by the toews' health issue.

I don't agree with this. I anticipate Kane not playing ANY defense but his stats matter to him and he will continue to be a dynamic offensive player. Kane never drove offense and was never a big a possession guy so those numbers will be even worse on this team. The way Toews' absence hurts Kane is that the opposing defense can focus even more on him now.
