I watched the earth/space movie from George Clooney early this morning, it was very well done and had a twist. He looked like hell most of the film.

nice, glad you watched it. Did you finish all 3 seasons? I'm halfway through season 2. I told my mom about the show and she plowed through all 3 seasons in a week or so. said it was great.

Death to 2020. It's a pretty good hour and 10. From the creators of Black Mirror.

I thought it was pretty boring

SPOILER

I don't need ANOTHER space movie where space travel is just an allegory for resolving some internal issue of the protagonist.

I started this and it was late. Moved pretty slow so I said I would get back to it. Have not yet.

My daughter urged me to watch the Queen's Gambit, which I enjoyed.

Last night I saw they included the Daniel Craig version of Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. I am a BIG FAN of the books, and enjoyed watching this version again. I prefer the Swedish version, but this one is okay.

Man, Queen’s Gambit was so good.

I really liked the way they wrapped it up.

I watched a great documentary on Netflix last night called "American Factory". It is the story of the closing of a GM plant in Dayton Ohio, and what happens when a Chinese auto glass manufacturer steps in and takes over the plant. Think "Gung Ho", only a true story and not nearly as funny. It really gives you an idea what American manufacturing is up against in terms of competing with China. Highly recommended.

Planning on starting this tonight or this weekend. Heard it was pretty gory.

I really enjoyed it. They never got into whether she was on the spectrum, instead languishing on the alcohol and pills. They seemed to blame it on hereditary mental illness but she seemed to have traits beyond that

Yesterday I finally had a quiet evening at my homes in Bavaria here and finished watching "The Queen's Gambit", brilliant TV show! Very unusual story, all actors are amazing, atmosphere in the show is really tense. I personally loved it! Would recommend to watch especially if you like chess.

For the record, I staunchly argued against that point of view, in this very thread

Imposters is a fun and kind of interesting episodic about a team of grifters and the people they grifted searching for them (all are still in love with the woman).

It's a canadian production and it shows, with lower grade acting, writing and production. I can't quite describe it but canadian tv is just a little off. The actors are a little less attractive, the story is a little less tight, etc.

Enjoyed Lupin. Pretty funny that the over dubbed dialogue doesn't really match with the closed captioning.

The new season of The Crown is so boring. I can't even bother to finish it and I loved the previous seasons.

I think that has to do with the subject matter. The early seasons dealt with important and massively historical events relevant to us even today. As time passes we are left with the most pressing issue being whether Charles will be able to divorce his wife. That means nothing to anyone but people who love gossip. We also see that the generation after Elizabeth are whiny, entitled and seem aware that them being "noble" is just some shell game they are perpetrating on the public.

I did. Fight me. Her eyes freak me out. Totally unfuckable.

In all seriousness, while they didn't say it, it was certainly implied she was on the spectrum despite constantly bringing alcohol and drugs into the picture. All the signs of social awkwardness, genius...

agree. I'm actually very much enjoying this season with one ep still to watch. I didn't really follow the whole Princess Died thing when she was alive and I'm interested in it now. Also love watching the relationship between the Queen and Thatcher. Had no idea they didn't like each other till i saw this season.

As usual, the acting and resemblance to the actual people is top notch.

I enjoyed the Crown way more than I expected to. i find American interest in the "Royal Family" ridiculous, but the series highlighted a lot of history, making it interesting.

The series made the entire family and existence of the Monarchy laughable. They also made Princess Died (thank you, Shakes  ) look like a complete trainwreck.

I LOVED the over the top cartoonish Margaret Thatcher.

What's with Agent Scully playing in all these British shows all of a sudden. My wife was watching some series where she was the lead detective trying to find a serial killer in Belfast.

Netflix hires English to play Americans and Americans to play English.
