this is a lesson to Mahomes.

Start learning to throw from the pocket. This scrambling around only works for so long. See Lamar Jackson.

Pocket QB's flat out win in the long run.

Every fuckin play he turned into a shitshow by scrambling around like crazy RIGHT FROM THE SNAP, WHEN HE DIDN'T EVEN NEED TO.

Worst example was He had 3rd and 9 on the 11, and by running straight back he turned into a 3rd and 30 and then sligned a reckless throw to the endzone. Stop that shit.

Having speed and being able to run is good for when you NEED it, not as a regular thing.

LEARN TO THROW FROM THE POCKET.

the same people that believe that 'black panther' was non-fiction bought into the obvious - mahomes is the goat and since last year, flew this flag. of course, someone like jim gray, is the gimp in brady's basement - like the gimp in 'pulp fiction'. the past year, gray was pushing back on 'mahomes goat', very softly..i'm sure he feels vindicated.

tomorrow will be a tough day for bernstein. brady is a trump supporter and probably eats goya beans too.

This loss has to hurt on a few different levels for Mahomes. He loses head to head in an SB to a guy who he’s going to be compared against in the GOAT discussion if he has that type of career, he now has an L in the biggest game, and a bad performance in that game on top of all that.

I know it’s a different sport but.. in terms of these discussions this is another reason why MJ is so revered as a winner -he is 6-0 on the biggest stage with excellent performances in all of them. Having a perfect record with great performances to win multiple rings means a lot when you’re talking about legacy. And MJ is the only one in modern history with that prestige.

It’s not a race thing. He’s arguably more talented than anybody in the league (maybe ever).

He ran into a tough D tonight. He’s not the reason they lost.

This is what happens when GOATS play behind an offensive line comprised of backups and should be backups.

Tough night.

no doubt...great player. goat after 1 super bowl win? don't argue that, or...you are a ....

i don't like today's football. the football of 40-30 years ago...O line couldn't use hands and extend arms to block, wide receivers were getting chucked...can't hit QBs high anymore...etc...etc. mahomes, like brady, are beneficiaries of these rule changes. don shula had much to do with this - had marino at miami and was on rule committee.

Yeah I heard some talking about this type of thing and saying it would be like Magic beating MJ in that first finals appearance for the Bulls. Would Jordan be quite as revered if he had lost that first one to an aging great.

If Mahomes stays healthy he is going to be in the GOAT conversation. But not sure he can get there with having this head to head loss in the Superbowl against Brady

Lol.

The GOAT conversation is over man. This is just silly at this point lol. We’re gonna be at the same place next year talking about “Brady has a chance to confirm he’s the GOAT with 8th ring.

This wasn’t a discussion before this game. It’s still not.

I pretty much agree with you, but I have a hard time closing the door completely on Mahomes at such an early age.

Brady has been the GOAT for awhile and I do not see that changing, but Mahomes is a crazy talented guy.

Crazy talented indeed. Reminds me of 2010-2014 Rodgers. He’s great. He’s never been in the ballpark of the GOAT conversation if we’re actually seriously having it. It’a like talking about the best WR ever where any serious commentator has to start his ranking at #2.

He is not in the ballpark of the conversation right now because of his age and time in the league. But when I say I am not closing the door on him I am saying that he still has the potential to be in that conversation later on. As of right now and for the foreseeable future Brady is the GOAT. But Mahomes still has the talent and time to get in that conversation.

Mahomes has so many years to become the GOAT. I agree. but it's going to be hard to accomplish.

As for Rodgers, I'll go w/ what skip bayless calls him, the 'pretend goat'. that's a very accurate nickname.

BS.

Great pocket QBs hang in there and find a way. He never gave his receivers a chance by constantly destroying the play right after getting the snap. He's gotten away with it for too long and thought he could do it again.

Stop it with the O-Line. In the Super Bowl, most O-Lines are solid. I saw many plays where he didnt have to scramble or leave the pocket. A Peyton or Brady or Brees woulda gotten the ball outta there.

Like I said, see Lamar Jackson. Same thing happened to him when people caught up with his shit.

There's an annoying narrative out there, pushed by MANY including Sir, that contends Mahomes performed very well in the SB. It's an utter crock of shit, but you just can't say a bad word about him.

Yeah, Holmes actually said something to the effect that Mahomes "put together a highlight reel of incompletions" during the Super Bowl. WTF?

Inarguably true. Some of the greatest incompletions I can recall in this particular moment.

Balls were bouncing off heads and hands all over the place that night in Tampa.
