No but that doesn't make the hire any better.

Silly mood. Fields is going 2nd overall.

I have been going with the assumptoin that Fields will go 2nd and the draft really begins at 3.

But some mock drafts have Fields slipping. This one here has him going #6 with Wilson being the 2nd QB off the board at #4

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/new ... 5cgyEK-6h4

Now obviously all that could change quickly, but for some reason Fields seems to be dropping

He shit the bed in more big games than he performed well.

I like him, but I’m pretty confident Wilson is the #2 QB off the board.

I’m no expert tho.

I agree...I think he is slipping. Too much time means a lot of second guessing.

He started slipping after I ranked him following the Big 10 championship game.

I was assured I was mistaken.

When Urban passes, the fall will begin.

$100 dollars says he won't be the 2nd QB taken.

Let me know if you want some of that.

Like I said, I'm not ruling out teams doing dumb shit. Certainly not ruling out the Jets doing dumb shit. Mostly just laughing at the fall comment. I'll put $100 down he goes top 5. Let me know if you want some of that.

Nah I will pass on that. Strange things happen in the draft.
I do feel pretty confident saying that Fields will prove to be a better QB than Wilson.

I think Wilson might be broken in half the first time he gets hit.

Jaworski is reporting the highest offer is from the Colts and it is two second rounders and possibly a later third or fourth.

My guess is that is a lie being fed to a former Eagle by the Eagles themselves and that the offer on the table is actually less. They are trying to goose the Bears offer.

I could live with a second this year and a fourth in another. Even that is an over pay. My estimation is that because of contract and risk, he is worth a third.

Wilson looked good against a very poor schedule. He feels like a 10-20 pick based on talent but he obviously will go higher.

I have no read on any OSU QB through the years. They are always surrounded by so much talent and their schedule always seems so favorable.

I wish there was a combine to judge these guys on an even playing field.

If I'm the Bears I tell the Eagles "That's a pretty good offer from the Colts. You should take it".

I would rather take whatever it requires to get Wentz to swap first round picks with someone in the draft and get a rookie quarterback.

I think the Bears did tell the Eagles that, which is why they have their national guy telling the world some half truths.

It would be a shocking amount of professional growth for Pace not to overpay and also negotiate against himself.

Forget Wentz. If you're going to make a deal, Bears, then go all-in for Russell Wilson.

Otherwise, just go with drafting the Alabama or Notre Dame QBs. And the Bears should be fine.

Alabama QB is not mobile enough to make it behind the bears offensive line as currently constructed.

Ian Book is a career 3rd stringer/practice squad player IMO.

I agree that the only guy out there that is worth dealing high picks and possible pieces from your own team for would be
Russell Wilson. He has a number of good years left in him and can allow you to try to draft and develop a young guy. I
just don't see Seattle parting ways and they would be asking a fortune for him. Our line isn't much better than Seattle's.

Mac Jones had all day to throw to the best WRs in the country.. Gonna be a rude awakening in the NFL.

Lawrence looks like the only franchise QB in this draft. Hard to evaluate the guys that put up numbers simply because they are either surrounded with NFL first round talent (Jones, Fields, Trask), play against inferior talent, lack NFL level decision making skills, or are undersized/under armed for the NFL.
