The draft has always been the best path for this upcoming year to see if they can get something at the QB position. Not Wentz, not Matt Stafford, not Cousins, or a pie in the sky deal for Watson.
Draft a QB, develop him (even tho I have my doubts they can develop a guy).. and show progress and that you’re finally headed in the right direction and that could save their jobs (doubtful, but possible).
This regime needs to do the opposite of what it’s been doing for years now. Be patient, don’t panic, don’t overdue it, and don’t overthink it. Asking a lot, I know.
I entirely agree with you on the draft route. However, with Jones now looking like he is shooting up boards, the only guy we can really target at #20 is Trask, and I don't know if he is a first round talent. I guess I could see Trey Lance dropping because, despite people pretending to be knowledgeable, I don't think anyone knows exactly what he is. You are drafting the equivalent of a junior college quarterback
