Although that does remind me that I guess they're going to 17 game seasons next year. So if that's the case yeah of course the Bears are gonna go 9-8

Dalton will rip off 3 wins in a row to start the season and everyone will conveniently forget about these posts today, until he loses the next 6 games.

Just like they did with the Glennon signing!

Dalton has a way better resume than Glennon. The Bears are going to be a run-oriented team this year, relying on defense to win. Don't be surprised to see A-Rob traded for a draft pick. If they were unable to get Wilson or Watson, then Dalton for one year is okay.

There's no difference and it wouldn't cost $10 mil.

What is the point of this?

They clearly wanted to move on from Mitch when they didn’t pick up his option. At that point I doubt a spurned Mitch wanted to come back on a 1 year deal. I’d also assume the Bears had targets in mind other than Dalton but they didn’t pan out. Now they will be forced to trade up for the QB of the future - thus making peeps unhappy.

This couldn’t have turned out any better IMO. :alien:

Tyrod Taylor just signed for 12 million. Dalton for 10 is alright. He isn't the QB of the future and Mitch isn't coming back.

Silvy thinks the Bears will trade up and get Trey Lance.

I mean.. we weren’t getting Watson or Wilson. Whatever -this team sucks. The coaches suck, the front office sucks, the ownership sucks, the radio station whose message board we post on sucks.

It’s a vortex of suck right now.

Yes, based on his potential.

Pace is trading the farm to move up.

It's the only scenario that makes sense, it buys Pace/Nagy time because you have the built in "it will take some time for him to learn the system", crap you get with any potential franchise QB drafted in the first round.

Pace's track record would likely indicate he's already fallen in love with one of the first round QB's and will do whatever it takes to move up, but how far can they move up realistically?

This does however mark the end of the Mitch era, thereby removing Nagy's biggest excuse for his bottom 5 offense.

Depends. If he gets drafted in the first round, yes.

I think this is the most legit bummed I've ever been as a Bears fan. I mean Dalton has been terrible for years. There isn't anything of value he can add to this team in any conceivable way. Not as a backup, not as a 3rd stringer.

I'm just bummed in a way that is different from a playoff loss, or a terrible injury to a key player. I can't even put it into words really.

How many shots at picking a QB can you give a guy?

Parkins tried making the case that this was just the Bears waiting a year for Russ, when a trade becomes more palatable for Seattle from a cap perspective.

At least I think that’s what he was saying. Tough to hear over all of the crying.

FWIW, my name is Matt and I’ve passed through Peoria once or twice.

We’re effectively the same person.
