This move forces an Oline upgrade and a corresponding commitment to the run the ball because Dalton and Foles are stationary targets.

I see Mac Jones in your future.

On a side note: Mock drafts have him as high as 6 and as low as 46. I don’t remember seeing such variation for a QB from a major program.

Only when the local paper doesn’t tell me what time the game starts.

I think this is the most legit bummed I've ever been as a Bears fan. I mean Dalton has been terrible for years. There isn't anything of value he can add to this team in any conceivable way. Not as a backup, not as a 3rd stringer.

I'm just bummed in a way that is different from a playoff loss, or a terrible injury to a key player. I can't even put it into words really.

Hope is a dangerous thing my friend, it can kill a man.

I do want to take one thing back. If on his first day as a Bear, Dalton murders Pace, then I will support this roster move.

What exactly is Pace doing other than just doing shit so he can say he did something? He tags Robinson who made it pretty clear he wanted out and takes on a big cap hit. He jerks around a bunch of contracts to get under the cap mainly due to Robinson's hit and punts their cap hits down the road. Robinson was probably interested in playing with Watson or Russ but now is going to want to be traded or he will just hold out until week 8. He wants to trade Miller now. Now he signs Dalton to go along with Foles. That really doesn't leave room do draft a qb unless he is going not dress for the entire year (only some teams are afforded that luxory!!) At the end of the day it looks like he worked the cap and built an aging team to contend for a wild card spot at best??

The Red Rifleman doesn't excite me. It would have made far more sense to use that money on an offensive lineman or WR for the quarterback that will be drafted. A QB competition with Dalton and Foles doesn't excite anyone. Nagy needs to go yesterday. This is another shitty pick by him.

This signing confirms offensive tackle will be the first pick next month IMO.

Nagy got this job because he saw something in Mahomes and called plays for a handful of games. The Mahomes thing either isn't completely accurate or it was an accident. He has been an absolute disaster when it comes to developing a quarterback or any offensive players. He refused to build an offense around (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's skills. Made Pace trade a 4th for Foles and misused him to the point that Foles complained to Griese. Now he got Pace to spend $10M more on Dalton because of his relationship with Lazor.

Yeah, it's likely offensive line or defensive line.

I'm no fan of Foles, but why not make an investment in a WR or offensive lineman and then sign a cheap quarterback before camp starts? Neither quarterback will be here in 2022 and the price for WR's like Golladay will be significantly higher.

I'm okay with him returning as the RT, but I would have preferred drafting or signing a LT and then have Leno slide to the right side.

Leno cannot play RT.

I think they will be drafting a player who will compete for a starting RT job this year and then shift to LT in the future.

I think this move screams Mac Jones

1. Mac Jones
2. Liam Eichenberg
3. WR

I would be goodwith that.

Dalton will play the role of Glennon and we role the dice on Jones. And I think the ND kid can be pretty good.

I really believe in Eichenberg as at least a starting level RT.

Mac Jones moves like Drew Bledsoe in his prime.

You watched the Bears offensive line the last two years, yes?

He's an average LT so I imagine he would be an above average RT.
