If you believed in Andy Dalton you don't make an offer like that. So what was the point or logic of the signing? Hope to make the playoffs with a slightly better journeyman? They are not getting a rookie quarterback to develop that's worth anything. Unless they trade a bunch of assets. It's a massive disaster from any angle. Hopefully the media pressure is enough to get Pace out.

Bears could be moving on from Fuller

Great. Downgrade at QB yesterday. Downgrade at DB today. What skill position will Pace make worse tomorrow?

Biggs apparently doing a 180 from his interview this morning with M&H, in which he said Fuller had the leverage because the Bears needed him. He didn't even hint there was a chance the Bears would cut him and said he would likely get a re-structure.

He also thought Graham was safe....which I didn't really agree with.

When even Hub's reaction is, "Oh crap", you know it's bad.

Lawrence Holmes eviscerating the Bears today! Never heard him so incensed.

That is an insane amount. It pretty much would have prevented George from launching Pace because which AGM in his right mind would take a GM job in Chicago with at least two 1s off the board?

It also means that trading two 1s to move up to draft a young QB to stay on the bench for 2021 is definitely in play.

Damn, the defense was solid last year but nothing special. If you lose Kyle Fuller, Pace and Nagy are in deep deep trouble!

I am surprised by it as well, but why would Dan Patrick give enough of a shit to make something up?

I didn't realize the Bears were in salary cap hell. I guess they can't improve the line or add another weapon unless they release Hicks or something. What a nightmare

Surprisingly, 9-sack Mack only has a $13.8 million cap hit in 2021, but he has something like a $30 million cap hit in 2022.

They restructured his contract (along with Goldman and Whitehair) a few days ago to get down to that number

It may actually be the unicorn draft for Pace where he takes a QB and a OL

I like the contrarian take and honestly by the law of averages, the team is way overdue to hit on a QB. If Pace gets lucky enough to hit on starters at QB and LT in the first two rounds it would change the franchise, but given his history of missing on skill position players at the top of the draft its highly unlikely, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.

Reading that he's trying to move several defensive starters, not sure what you get for Hicks or Fuller?

Lions' free-agent WR Kenny Golladay spent Wednesday night meeting with Bears GM Ryan Pace and HC Matt Nagy. He spent most of Thursday morning throwing up.

Maybe not signing Andy Dalton to a $10 million deal could've mitigated a cap hit.

Edit: what Bob said

Seriously.....Pace is an absolute dumbshit.

I hope he is savoring his one shot at being an NFL GM.

If they don't get Golladay everyone should storm Halas Hall.

I hope he goes to GB and shoves it down Pace’s throat for the next 5 years.

Counterpoint: I hope they do spend on Golladay then Fuller signs with the Pack and shuts him down for the next 8 seasons of Pace’s reign of error.

He had lost a step but was still their best player in the secondary. Not getting anything for him is criminal. They could have reworked his deal last offseason too.

Three in a row, but given his combination of incompetence and job security, are we sure Pace isn’t an illegitimate McCaskey?
