Are Foles and Dalton still on the team in this 2021 scenario?

There were a number of good WR signing cheap deals. The play probably should have been to let Robinson walk, sign two good WR for his money and collect the comp pick. He isn't very good at reading developing markets

Corey Davis has been a big disappointment in the NFL so far.

He is from a Titan perspective drafting him in the first.

from a market perspective he had 65 catches for 984 yards a 15.1 YPC and 5 TDs last year. He did that as a #2 with a questionable QB.

Good #2 who can stretch the field and only just turned 26. he only cost you 10 million per year

You don't have the $10M to spend.

They floated the idea of cutting Hicks and it sunk like a rock.

It's only a matter of time before Hub turns bullish from his current negative stance. LOL "Guys, I don't know what to tell ya. I'm not saying this is a great team, and we still don't have a QB, but I think it's realistic to think Andy Dalton can help this team win two more games. And once you get in the playoffs anything can happen. I'm not making excuses, I'm just telling you the facts, guys." (nervous laughter)

Could you imagine if they passed on another black QB?

Quote:
16. Chicago Bears (trade up with Arizona Cardinals): Mac Jones, Alabama QB
17. Las Vegas Raiders: Kwity Paye, Michigan edge rusher
18. Miami Dolphins: Travis Etienne, Clemson RB
19. Washington Football Team: Trey Lance, North Dakota State QB
20. Arizona Cardinals (trade down with Chicago Bears): Jaycee Horn, South Carolina CB

In all honestly, you grab Lance if he is there.

Did they really go after Golladay? That offer was embarrassing.

Do you try to sign Watkins or address WR in the draft? I feel like the covid combine could be a blessing to teams with a great scouting department.

It would be pretty great if they signed Watkins

Thanks. I don't pay attention to football.

They run their offense through the RB and do not rely on the QB to win games. He has performed well as a secondary option against teams gearing up to stop the run.

with a guarantee to start

at the very least, 7 should have been the base with incentives for starts that would have brought him to 10.

Pace does this with everyone. He always is above market rate with FA. He always overpays in trades. Robinson should take his offer knowing that whatever Pace is offering is probably more than he would get from a competent GM.

Graham, Quinn, Trevathan, Dalton, Foles, etc. It's not simply that they are not great players. It is that, even at their best, the contracts Pace gave would still be more than they are worth

I know you watch a lot of football, but FF makes a solid point.

Tannehill has been very good. And with the Titans running game being what it is, that field should have stretched a lot easier with teams gearing up to stop the run. Somehow for Corey Davis, it did not.

Maybe this is on Tannehill, but time will tell.

And you forget that Mooney is your stretch the field guy already for $9M less per year than Davis.

The new rumor is Foles going to Philly. This obviously won't happen. The Bears are stuck with him and Dalton and it's up to Nagy to find a way to win with them. I still can't believe so many Chicago sports media types kept peddling these unrealistic trade rumors. Pace never had a shot at any of these guys and the media helped him put out the perception that he was ALL IN on these big name QB's.

It wasn't meant as an insult but there's nothing questionable about him. He's very good. I think you're wrong to dismiss how well he has performed just because they have Derrick Henry.

Allow him a mulligan. Watching the Bears for so long, we really are clueless about what is good quarterback play and great quarterback play compared to the rest of the league.

Probably right.

With the IU job open I been listening to some Indy sports radio this past week. And Indy fans are as upset with Ballard as Bear fans are with Pace.

While I agree that he sorta shot himself in the foot, an article I posted on another site shortly after the trade kinda walked down the why's/when's of it. It doesn't absolve the issue, but helps maybe add a little clarity.

15.1 yards per catch and just a hair short of 1,000 yards as the #2 WR on the team sounds like a guy who can stretch the field

That should be a real good signing for the Bear.

And we can dump Ryan Nall now as well for a bonus.

Artavious Pierce lost me as a fan when he got his shot and ran out of bounds rather than trying to run over someone for a first down.

That makes two of us.

He wanted nothing to do with contact on that play.
