Update; The Sox have not been good the past two exhibition games. Try not to cream yourself, Caller Bob.

Can we get a wellness check on Ogie?

I'd be worried about Birmingham's rotation this year. Sox rotation and pen? Still look fucking awesome

I don't think Kopech will be in the pen come August/September. I suspect he gets stretched out in Charlotte during mid summer so that he can enter the rotation down the stretch.

Still don't trust his mental makeup, but yes...I suspect he'll make the back end of the rotation at some point this season.

Would have been cool to see the Kopech/Crochet/Sloider troika.

Eloy doesn't care that it's spring, he'll still kill the Cubs

Yes it's only spring, but I like Rodon so far. He always had the stuff and was just never healthy. if he's healthy, he can show why he was a 1st round pick. I think he will be this year's "Jon Garland"

There's also another problem. He doesn't just fall out of bed and throw strikes. He needs work and building up a lather over a 4 or 5 game stretch. It's a conundrum because the work gets him hurt. Maybe Katz can fix those command problems.

His command has been great today. He is throwing strikes and any contact off the bat has been soft

4 strikes outs, 1 hit (soft single), no walks, and no runs for Rodon in 3 innings of work. I think he has won the 5th starter job.

It's the slider mostly. He wouldn't even throw it in Oakland. That's when hitters can sit on the fastball.

I was a big fan. Even called him an ace after he developed the change. But that shoulder. They took rotting tissue out of it. I gotta think that eventually led to the elbow. I have zero faith he can hold up.

He'll lose it or get hurt before Memorial Day. I'd love to be wrong, I just don't see him doing anything worthwhile as a player anymore.

Agreed.

It would be nice tough...

I think that's an improvement. Eloy felt for the wall and timed his jump, rather than just barrel into it like a runaway locomotive.
