Just wondering what other listeners thought about Mac and Jurko's almost incessant crticisms of Harry in his absence. I think Carmen did a great job, as he always does, but the MJH show is a success due to the team of three. Say what you will about Harry, he does contribute a lot of energy and humor when he is there.

After this week, I'm not sure I think of the three of them as a team anymore. Loyalty is everything, and the "MJ" portion of the trio showed me nothing this week that remotely resembled it. I can tell the difference between kidding and a mean-spirited attack on someone when they have left the room. Been a part of both myself, and I'm not proud of it.

Are you?

I thought "MJ" were a helluva team this week.

I did notice that when M or J are out they still call it Mac Jurko Harry, but I heard mac call it the Mac Jurko Carm show more than once.

I don't feel any need to defend Harry, but I found the continual ripping of him by the two of them unprofessional and unentertaining. It sounds like the plan is to talk shit about him until he reacts and then they act like they were just joking and now he's not a team player for taking it seriously while they were just having fun. It's pathetic, no matter how shitty you think Harry is, professionally, he doesn't deserve to be treated like garbage by his "partners" when he's not there.

I'm waiting for the "we kid because we love" line Tuesday. But that's not what I heard them doing last week.

Maybe they're jealous because Harry may very well already have his Fuck You money and they don't.

I listened some this week and I think they were being serious. They were using every opportunity to give it to Harry in his absence, very childish indeed.
Carm seemed to be a bit uncomfortable with it, at least what I heard.
As was said before, the show works because of the mix of all three. I don't find any of them that compelling alone, but like them together.
I do listen to B&B more than MJH, but I do flip back and forth. I like the show more with Harry, than without.
Mac's behavior is starting to remind me of another host. I just can't put my finger on who. It will come to me eventually......
If Jurko does not have fuck you money, then he is a financial dope.

I don't think its got anything to do with money. I have long thought that both view Harry as a guy who is a pure homer. A guy with little objectivity, so his thoughts and opinions are less worthwhile, in their eyes-in mine too, for that matter. Plus, they have heard a lot of his jokes dozens of times. After a while, that gets old. Mac and Jurko were "stuck" with Harry initially, as he was baggage left from shows past. But as time went by, the 3 meshed pretty well. I still think Harry adds to the show, but I understand whats going on there.

Mac & Jurko get along well because they seem pretty similar in thoughts and attitudes. Harry is the outsider who stirs the pot, the antagonist if you will. Put a third in there who is very similar to Mac & Jurko and it's a different show, most likely a worse one.

Maybe I'm in the minority but for first time since their show started, I felt uncomfortable listening. At first it seemed playful and funny, but as time went on, I felt as "enough was enough". I kept thinking that Mac and Jurko had to have a purpose. Mac's too much of a professional to think the listerners were finding the continued bashing funny. I'm not a real fan of Harrys, but I really felt sorry for him. Definitely not good radio. Thank Goodness for the iPod. I don't know if MJH will continue in their current form or not. I'll probably listen either way. I just hope this week goes smoothly and the guys can let this go.

Gotta agree with you guys that the ripping was a bit too much. Mac threw Jiggs under the bus many times as he didn't care for him during his working relationship as well. I know Harry is a pain in the ass behind the scenes as I witnessed the day I was in studio with Slapnuts but I think Mac and Jurk owe Harry a bit more respect and some gratitude towards him as Harry is a huge part of the success they all enjoy together.

Mac's ego seems to be getting bigger with all the success OF THE SHOW and now the Papers are throwing money at him and Mac better take a long look what just happened to his buddy "Northie" or he'll land up being a quest on Harry's show one day claiming "I don't know what the fuck happened , one day I had it all the next day it was all gone".

Careful Mac, you see the same people going down the ladder as you do going up.

The North wannabe just showed his lack of professionalism. He's a blowhard. His ego with his small overall ratings is unjustified. He thinks he's a star, but nobody, other than the ALS here, think much of him. He is the least respected sports talker in town, obviously for good reason.

I think Harry should be off the air, but the two gutless losers won't same any of the same to him to his face. they remind me of danny and douchebag, all were the loser kids in high school that thought by tearing others down made them important. Sorry, just shows what losers they are.

C'mon Mac, come on here and let us know how much you make. North did too and look what happened to him.

I don't care how much Mac makes, I'm sure we all know people who could buy and sell him tonight if they cared to do so.

What the past month has shown is that ESPN Chicago has a pretty deep bench, with Carmen, JD and Hoodie, all of whom have filled in nicely during peak vacation season. I listen every day (YES, EVEN WHEN Mac and Jurko WERE GONE), and still found the show entertaining.

So, it's not just one guy or even two that make it. It's the three-man weave that makes it fun to listen to. And if Mac and Jurko want to sit there in the locker room towel-snapping their partner in his absence, I think it says a lot more about them than Harry.

welll. They are doing the jobn.I will be listening Tuesday at 2pm to see what goes on .
I do think it was way out of line .Not only did Mac and Jurko come across as jerks but while its not out of the norm for Jurko to jump on Harry.Mac was wayyyy out there .You could tell Carm was getting a little uncomfortable .
I am not a huge fan of Harry but he at least tries to get along with people >yeah he is a homer, but so is Mac when it comes to the Sox.
I do not know how respected he is in the community of his peers but seeing as he has thrown others under the bus, it might not be welcome as Harry might be .
I kind of think this might be a ploy by them to see how far they can push things .If it was not sanctioned I see the Station management making them stop.It appears this was not the case ,if so then if this was real and not scripted (as it seems to be real ).Harry was probably talking to one of the lawyers in his family about action he might take ,can anyone say hostile workplace. Its been done for less.
The one thing these two Indiana boys forget is that Harry does a lot of work they seem unwilling to do .they mock him for going out all the time ,but he does put the show out there and for better or worse he is the most approachable of the three.

Well said.

Mac has turned into a huge dickhead, totally fully of himself. He's still a dumbass and thinks his 5.6% of the demograghic is huge. Geez, 94% of the demo don't listen to him, not much to constantly brag about. Just another 47 year old thinking he's a cool 25 year old. Kind of pathetic.

In Radio esp sports talk ,its big They are not Wally Phillips big but still they are #1 in the slot .As you said I think it has gotten to Macs' head a little bit .The whole "I" am prt of a string of #1 rated shows .He needs to step back and take a look at not only what happen to North but Manco.>mancow was huge but he also got too full of himself and thought that he was
bigger than the buisness. Now look at him reduced to giving away his show and he was not only bigger but better than these guys .Heck we can go down the list of fallen Radio people from Chicago.Kevin Mathews, Steve Dahl,Johnny B and so on .Some have come back others have not .If I was the people in charge Mac would be slapped down, hard .Not just a suspension but hit him where it hurts .Don't let him work outside the station for a bit ,take some of his comercial money .Show him he is not as big as he seems to think he is .This is all speculated on the fact that it might be a set up on us ,I don't think so but its a possibility

I actually considered that some might think that statement to be hypocritical. However, as big a believer as I am in THIS YEARS Cubs team, I did not think they would win the series last year. I have been anything but a believer in the Bears the past couple years-Did not believe they would beat Indy when they went to the Super Bowl. Have not voiced an opinion that either the Hawks or Bulls would contend for any Championship, since Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen were playing for the Bulls. So the idea that I might just be a blind believer, would not be in the least bit accurate. But I did wonder if someone might jump to such a conclusion, as much as I have been leading the parade on the big blue train.

I actually found this forum b/c I turned on MJH last week and it sounded to me like Harry had been dumped and Carm was in for good. It was constant references to MJC and how maybe "Harry could still get work." I literally googled MJH to see if Tiny had been fired or had quit.

It's a pretty immature way of dealing with things, if you ask me. Mac just needs to keep his feelings to himself (how many of us have coworkers we can't stand?) and let the show run...it didn't become the #1 show b/c of Mac OR Jurko OR Harry...it's Mac and Jurko and Harry. Grow up boys.

I understand what you are saying, but just because you are having success, does not mean you can't be improved. Look at the Cub's....They won the N.L. Central last year-they were the #1 team in that division. But they add Fukadome-get rid of Jacque Jones, add Reed Johnson and Jim Edmonds in center-send Pie back to the minors, Put Dempster back in the rotation and make Kerry Wood the closer and bring up Samardzija as a set up guy to compliment Marmol. Have Soto at catcher and let Kendall go. Even a good team may at times want to try to improve itself. I like the MJH team as is, but I am glad the Cubs made the changes they did.

Missed a lot of the show this week but I really have no opinion one way or the other. They bust each others balls like there is no tomorrow and Mac has said to me that Harry is a big reason the show is what it is today and I wouldn't think he would be foolish enough to think other wise. I know Harry takes his pokes at Mac and Jurko when their gone but you guys might be reading into this a little too much.

I golfed with Mac and Carm on Friday ( button 48 ,I know your happy for me ) and Harry's name never came up once. Mac was too busy fighting with the foursome behind us and admiring Carms pleated pants and pressed golf shirt to care about Harry.

Harry's a big boy and can handle anything Mac and Jurko can throw at him. He'll be fine.

Typical Mac crap, pretty child like, but not unexpected. Like Mac, but I am sure he will love him agian next week. As far for Jurko....well, like I have said, if he isnt a ex-nfl player, he never see's the inside of a radio booth.

That is the definition of a tease.

The shows were good this week. They always take shots at Harry when he's gone. This week was no different, and probably even more than usual. There were some pretty good ones though. I especially liked when a caller said that Harry is challenging and Mac fired back with something to the effect of "Oh yeah, 'Len, who's your favorite Cub' is such a challenging question."
