Can't tell if we played better last night or if the Panthers are that much better than TB this year???

It's understandable for the team to hit a bit of a wall here. They are being scouted more carefully and there's some repetition. To me it is still a promising season that they are staying competitive with a team like Tampa after getting their doors blown off those first two games.

I think it was Murphy that screwed up on that 3rd goal last night. Lankinen wasn't the best either but seems like an off night.

I was expecting more like Toews's girlfriend or to be all tarted up. She looked remarkably girl next doorish.

Don't underestimate the "Girl next door look". Sometimes they're more sexy then the super model. Not always. But in a lot of cases.

For example, I'd take the "girl next door" look over Tom Brady's Super model wife. I think she's overrated.

As for the game, back to business.
Much more entertaining than the last 4 games.

The team has shown who they truly are the last month. They just beat up on an awful Detroit team and then struggling Columbus to pile up some points in February.

This group is not going anywhere this year and it's hard to see a direction for the rebuild if they don't get a good lottery pick

Saw some criticism on the Hawks FB page, it became pretty stereotypical after a few guys were critical of her work with Foley. Could tell by reading that most of the posters hadn't been Hawks fans long and had no memory of Pat back in the day when he was at his best with Dale. Still remember listening to the games on an old clock radio in my room on Sunday nights as a hapless youth.

Yes, on the 2 version (plus I guess it’s called) of that channel. Hulu just shows you that channel when you click on Hawks “icon”.

I thought Carlsson was supposed to be a decent prospect. Maybe I had him confused with someone else.

Maybe you're thinking of Adam Boqvist, who was heralded as the next Erik Karlsson, which hasn't happened yet.

I love this, Q benches a guy after four games...sounds familiar.

“Henrik Borgstrom

Borgstrom is the potential “high reward” part of this trade. A former University of Denver teammate of Hawks defenseman Ian Mitchell, Borgstrom appeared to be on the fast track to NHL stardom after piling up 45 goals in 77 collegiate games, then scoring eight times in 50 games as a rookie with the Panthers in 2018-19.
But coach Joel Quenneville benched Borgstrom after just four games last season. The 23-year-old ended up scoring 11 goals in 49 games in the AHL, then signed overseas for this season.

“Henrik was a dominant college player — one of the best college players I’ve seen in the last 10 years,” Bowman said. “Really high-end skill. ... When you look at his best game it’s pretty impressive.

“We’ve been watching him play in Finland. His skill set’s very noticeable. Big, tall kid. Good reach. Athletic body, skater, hands. He can do a lot of different things with the puck. There’s tremendous upside.

“Obviously he’s got to turn that potential into reality, but he’s the kind of player that you get excited to work with.”

Wake me up when they trade for someone that will drop hammers on the opposition when needed. Dallas had 20 hits in the 1st period last night and as always the hawks went and hid in their fallout shelters for the rest of the game. There are alot of things to like about the hawks young players but they have no grit about them whatsoever outside of Hagel.

The trade was a salary dump for Florida with the Hawks getting one guy with potential....at least that is what the Herald said.

Pretty much sums up why this team isn't going anywhere. Bowman likes guys that treat the game like they are putting on an ice capades show, lots of attempts at pretty blind passes, but nobody wants to go into the corner and win a physical battle, you can see this version of the Hawks wilt when the opposition starts to dump pucks and hammer their group of finesse defensemen and petite forwards who willingly cough up the puck at the first sign of contact.
