Be it store bought or a recipe or at a restaurant (I'm in the western suburbs...)

There was a place in downtown Elgin a few years back (Prairie Rock) brewing company that had a great Cheddar ale soup that hooked me. Now whenever I go any place, I look for something like that on the menu, which no one really has. I have strolled the soup aisle at Jewel, Wally World, Meijer to know avail.

Any suggestions?

I worked at that Prairie Rock. The beer cheese soup was made of bugs.

It's very good. I get it each time I go. It's good with the pretzel it comes with as well.

I am also a big fan of beer cheese soup. It's the best one I've had around the area.

I liked the one Harrison’s in Orland Park used to have

They’ve been closed about 10 years now, so I guess it doesn’t really matter

Brickstone Brewery in Bourbonnais has a great one. Not sure it is always on the menu though.

I take Panera’s chicken and wild rice, dump in the newest hop butcher release, then top it off with a Hershey’s kiss.

Seconded. I'm not a fan of their schnitzels, but it's a great place. pre-COVID, it was hard to beat it on a winter Sunday afternoon, when you could sit at a less crowded bar.

The food is good.

The waitstaff had an attitude that I didn't care for.
