So Jbills you have changed your mind on the bears having to draft OL in the first round?

No sir.

The first two picks this year need to be OL.

I’m ok with picking up Mills, Trask, or Mond in the 3rd.

That’s the sweet spot for me this year, if a guy slides.

I’m still all in on Dillon Gabriel 2022.

What "developmental" Qbs have the Bears drafted in recent memory?

I’m not even sure.

I was more referencing Doc specifically.

His draft analysis is great, but he does love late round QBs.

IMO filling out depth needs on this team is more important right now.

Then just prepare to be disappointed. I dont see any way they use their first 2 picks on OL. I would be happy if they did, but I just do not see Pace doing that.

Costello isn't going to get drafted.

My late round guy is Felipe Franks. He has a lot of good tools. Ultimately he will suck but at least there are some NFL physical qualities you may be able to shape.

I don't think we quite understand the red flag level of need at CB for the Bears. Johnson is still developing and injury prone. After that? Cornerback must be addressed in the first 2 rounds. The good thing is that there will be starting level players there even in the second. I see 7 guys who can start on day 1 with at least another couple who might be able

CB is definitely a high level need on this team.

In one of the simulations Surtain fell to #20. I know that is not going to happen, but that would be a great pick at 20.

Seems to be too many teams whispering about him. I think he gets drafted.

He just has the feel that he's the type of untapped potential guy that people get overly excited about 2-3 days prior to a draft because he looks like he should be very good.

I think the Bears draft him. They won't be able to get Mills unless they do something stupid.

That is why Mills is the guy. They will probably trade up to 18 and take Mills.

Disappointment is encoded in our DNA as Bears fans.

I’m 90% sure Pace will trade back to draft another TE.

It would. Surtain has that feel of a guy who has maximized his play. He's been coached so well that there is nothing more to tap. He also knows how to be a professional. You can guarantee a 10+ year career.

You look at Farley's numbers and salivate. The injury is going to move him farther than people think.

The top 6 CB are monsters. All 6 feet or taller with speed in the 4.3s.

While we are on the topic, where is my guy Stephen Denmark?

The lack of camp really hurt him last year. I'd love to see him emerge as a regular in the defensive backfield

I think he ended up in Pittsburgh.

But you are going to love it when the Beloved take Robert Rochell this year. You'll forget all about Denmark.

I'm gonna predict they take Mond at 20 unless someone in at the top starts to fall. They will justify it by saying it's a deep o-lineman draft and they didn't want to risk losing Mond. IMHO.

I agree with the deep oline part. That’s fine if your needs are minimal or if you’re picking near the top and there’s a generational talent but I feel like the oline and wide receiver position can wait until the 2nd round and beyond.

I been reading up on the QBs in this draft. Something that does not make much sense to me. Mac Jones and Kyle Trask seem to me to be about the same guy. What has caused Jones to move up the boards and some even having him going in the top 10 where as Trask is considered a 2nd or 3rd round guy?

Jones trumps Trask on arm, feet, leadership/intangibles, reading defenses and not being a Gator product

Coming out of 'Bama isn't much better; but the delta btw results in/expectations coming out of college and performance in the NFL seems greatest for Florida and Ohio State QB's.

Me thinking he would be an acceptable flyer with one of the Bears four sixth round picks isn't love. If you are taking a flyer, he has size and arm strength.

He had 20 TD's and 4 Int's for a Arkansas team that didn't win much, not bad.

I don't think there's that much difference between them as far as the grades the better evaluators are giving them but there's so much smoke about Jones going #3 they have to put him up there in their mocks. We'll have to see how the draft plays out to see what teams really think of Jones. It could get real interesting if he doesn't go #3.

yeah that is probably it.

Neither is a top 10 QB and probably both are 2nd/3rd round guys, but it always amazes me how certain people catch fire and move up like Jones has.
