I have to believe they are seeing how low they can get Okung, Fischer, Villaneuva or Peters on a deal. Would you really cut Leno without having something in place?

I just noticed Leno is 30. I think of him as a young player.

Pace seems to counting on Nagy to perhaps get Fisher to come here.

That seems like a pretty big gamble. Didn't he miss half the season in 2019 with a torn core muscle? Then he blew out his achilles in January. The guy seems like he might be falling apart. In any event, I'm skeptical that he'll be ready for the start of the season. Then again, a gimpy and injury-riddled Fisher is still likely significantly better than a healthy Leno.

I think we can all agree on that.

Leno had a nice run for a 7th round draft pick, the real problem was Pace paying him as a top 8 or 9 best LT in the league.

Eric Fisher to the Colts for 1 yr 9 million.

I wish the Bears would have got him. I know there are concerns about him getting cleared, but seems like he will be ready by mid August. That would a better plan while you see if Jenkins is a LT or RT

Yeah, they seem to be putting a lot of pressure on Jenkins, who only has six or seven starts at LT. Has Leno signed anywhere? I still wouldn't be surprised if they brought him back at a reduced price, for better or worse.

If only there was a guy making roughly this amount of money that became obsolete after the draft that could of been cut....

My impression was that knowing that they didn't have to spend money over rookie scale on a RT, that they felt they could either upgrade from Leno or at worst take the risk that they can bring Leno back for smaller money.

They will stick Jenkins at LT in minicamp because it helps lower the price. And there's the off chance that he won't be worse than Leno, and they can go get a starting RT or spend that money elsewhere on the offense.

The starting RT is Ifedi in that scenario. I don't think they are even looking elsewhere.

Bears are famous for putting OL in sub optimal positions out of necessity and then never getting around to putting them back at the spot they could be great.

If the league thought Jenkins was a long term LT, he is a top half of the first round pick. The Bears are going to put him there without any safety net. Maybe the Bears know better than the rest of the league.

That’s good value for the football team.

Small problem, he really can't play either tackle position anymore.

Can former Football Team OT Morgan Moses play? PFF had him ranked pretty highly last season.

He's scheduled to visit Halas Hall this week....

Is he the guy who lost his job to Leno? If so, why the fuck would pace want him?

I don't see how they can go into the season without a safety net if Jenkins is not a LT from day 1

I think Pace is just watching that one highlight on loop and has convinced himself this kid is Orlando Pace.

Just because Leno is now in Wash does not mean he is better than Moses. It could easily be a money thing. I dont really know much about Moses but it seems he has pretty solid reviews and they definitely need some help at T. They cannot expect for 2 rookies to carry the load this year.
