...will go like this. This will be the opening. Can't listen. Let me know if I'm right.

Larry - Hello. This is the new Larry and Hamp Show. Dan, I'm really, really, really looking forward to working with you. It's gonna be sooooooo great. I'm really, really, really excited about this show. It's gonna be sooooooo great. For you listeners, just to let you know about the show, we're gonna be talking about sports. That's right. Sports. This has never been done before. It's gonna be soooooooo great. Dan, welcome.

Hamp - That's right, Larry. Happy to be here. It's gonna be great.

Larry - No, Dan. It's gonna be really, really, really great. Say it, Dan.

Hamp - Say what?

Larry - Say it's gonna be really, really, really great.

Hamp - It's gonna be really, really, really great.

Larry - Wow. I'm glad to hear you say that. I agree. It's gonna be really, really, really great.

Hamp - Uhh...yeah.

Larry - I know fans know who you are but I want them to know you more personally. You are a Hall of Famer and member of the 1985 Super Bowl champs. But there was more to you than just that, right?

Hamp - That's right, Larry. Want to hear stories about the '85 Bears?

Larry - No. I want to dig deeper. Dan, when you sacked the QB, did you view the QB as the evil "white man" and did you view yourself as the man fighting for equality for black people? Is that why you got all of those sacks in your career? Was that your motivation? Is that why you were so good?

Hamp - Uhh...not really. I was a football player and paid to get the QB. That was about it.

Larry - That's a facinating answer, Dan. That's a really, really, really great answer. Anyway, the pulse will be coming up later. The pulse is great. Dan is really, really great. This show is really, really great. We'll be back after a really, really, really short break. Stay with us.

You need to throw in the stupid stutter from Hamp. I am not making fun of someone who stutters, that is a real problem, Hamp just can't formulate the thoughts and thus it is a stuttering sound, as his mouth is moving and sound comes out, but the brain is still working ont he sentence.

Great choice Mitch. The guy can barely talk.

reason for the length of time before Hamp got on the show? Vocal training. Heard it here first. Doesn't seem to be working.

Will it reflect poorly on Mitch if this show ends up to be an unmitigated disaster, or has he built enough capital to get away with a flop in mid-mornings?

He'll get away easily for 3-4 rating books. Excuses will buy him anothet three books, but the "chemistry" between loho and 99 will deteriorate eventually resulting in a blowup.

Sure has been the case today. A conversation between Hamp and Boers would sound like a schizophrenic Mel Tills arguing with the voices in his head.

Two observations from the first 45 minutes: 1. Larry couldn't go 25 minutes witout dropping one of his Bear "buddies" names. "I just got a text from Dez Clark, And he WILL be joining us." Douche. 2. Hampton's live reads could be the stuff of legends. His first one made O.B sound like Lawrence Olivier.

I'm just catching the last half hour. First time hearing it. Why are they on in Murph's slot? Is this just a Monday thing?

Anyway, Larry sounds like a complete douche. He's getting worse. He's thanking everybody and saying how "great" the show has been and how "great" all of the shows have been on the Score today. Everything is "great" to Larry. Shut Up, Larry!!!!

Also I noticed when Larry bring up callers he always starts them off with their topic. He'll say "Joe you're on the air, what do you want to say about the defense?" "Jack, you're on the air, what do you want to say about the play calling."

That's annoying. The caller knows what he wants to say. Don't do that Larry. That's a "new" Larry bad thing. He has brought "New Bad" to his new show.

Hampton and Holmes were on at noon because Buffone and O'Bradovich were on at 10. This is a bad programming move: if you're trying to establish a new show, don't play fast and loose with their timeslot. If they're going to be on at 10, put them on at 10. I'd prefer that Murph didn't get bumped, because yes, there IS a baseball season underway, and it might not hurt to have a two-hour respite from Bears Out The Ass to talk Cubs and Sox, especially during 1969 Redux here. Doug and OB have done late-night postgames before, and Paruch had no shortage of callers, so I don't see the point in deferring your featured postgame show to Monday morning when the fans (and presumably Doug and OB as well) have cooled down considerably from the immediate postgame high. If it's absolutely necessary to move the old Bears to the morning after, then twin them with Hampton and Holmes, the weakest show in the lineup, from maybe 11 to noon, to give them an added boost in credibility and compelling radio, while preserving Murph's established timeslot. I'm not a program director, though.
