Partially. I understand that getting to the foul line is part of the game, but players used to get there by attacking the rim. Now they stick their leg out on a jump shot or stop trying and just stand there waiting for someone to run into them. Exciting stuff to watch.

They made a rule change on sticking your foot out. Do you wish one for stopping after using a screen? For that matter, make screens illegal. They aren't fair either. You're forcing a defender to NOT FOUL. THAT ISN'T BASKETBALL.

Trae doesn't do either of those, sticking the leg out or waiting at the 3 point line for people to run into him.

He comes around screens and when he senses the defender following too close for conditions he stops on a dime and pulls up for a jumper and out of control defender can't stop in time to avoid running into him while he is in the air getting ready to release the shot.

Trae attacks the rim all the time. he led the league last year in made floaters in the lane.

 It made me laugh seeing Nash claim that it is not basketball. It is definitely something that I could have seen him doing in his playing days.

It is a smart move.

yea and on top of that Nash is Trae's idol and Trae even travelled to Europe after his rookie year to train with Nash so he probably learned or at least worked on that exact move with Nash.

1-8 since DeAndre Hunter got hurt. He was having a breakout year.

Injuries have piled up, but its getting ugly. Last two games the coach has blamed the players and Trae blamed the coach. The team is hot garbage right now.

They really need to fire the coach ASAP. he sucks. They have Nate McMillan sitting on the bench, they should just promote him for the rest of the year.

Hawks turning it around since they got rid of Lloyd Pierce. Nate McMillan took over and Hawks are 7-0 since the firing. They were 2-1 under McMillan a week before Pierce got fired when Pierce was on maternity leave. So 9-1 under McMillan overall.

Bogdonavich is starting to get his legs back after missing 25 games with a broken foot. He had his first really good game last night. Gallonari has been playing really well since McMillan took over. Hunter should be back within a week or so. Kris Dunn supposed to be back very soon as well, he's been out all year.

Trae has been playing great. So has Collins and Capela.

team is now 21-20.

Grueling 8 game west coast road trip starts tomorrow. If they can come out of that 23-26 I'll be happy and the schedule lets up quite a bit. They could get as high as a 6 seed if they keep this up.

Called it. Hawks basically the best team in the NBA since they fired Pierce and promoted Nate. And doing it with half the team injured every night. The depth of this team is amongst the best in the league. Bogdonovich is stepping up big time now that he's back from broken leg. probably gonna be top 2 for eastern player of the month in April behind Julius Randle. Hawks were crushing the Knicks then Trae turned an ankle, only reason hawks lost that game.

Then, no Trae this weekend to go along with no Hunter, Reddish, Snell or Dunn and they somehow beat Miami and Milwaukee. Also didn't have league's leading rebounder Capela for the Miami game.

Right now tied with Knicks for 4th in the east and have a much easier schedule coming up. 4th or 5th, doesn't matter, just don't want to be sixth or lower. 6th gets you Milwaukee and 7th gets you a playin game.

Nate McMillan should win coach of the year. Don't care that he only came in in March. No one is doing a better job this year than Nate. Quin Snyder doing well, but he has a great veteran team. HOw much coaching does he have to do? Monty Williams in Phoenix? Nope, might as well give it to Chris Paul if that's the case. What Nate has done with ATL is nothing short of amazing. He took them from being one of the worst defensive teams and worst 4th quarter teams to now being one of the best defensive and 4th quarter teams in the league. What other coach can actually honestly answer the question, "how would this team do without me" other than Nate?

Big win last night, beat the #1 team in the league, Phoenix by over 30 points. Scored 135 and no one on the Hawks had more than 18. At least 7 players in double digits.

Only half a game out of 4th place and starting to build a lead on Miami and Boston for the 5th seed. Hawks have tie breaker over Mia and Bos but not NYK. Knicks have a much tougher schedule the rest of the way so things could be looking good for the hawks.

They play the Pacers tonight who are in the process of self destructing.

Hoping to get DeAndre Hunter back next week and then this team will b ready for the playoffs!

Playoffs and ATL in the same sentence, been a while.

Two huge wins this week over Washington and now the Hawks are on the verge of locking up the #4 seed. Only 2 games left, tonight on the back end of back to back vs tanking Orlando and then Saturday vs tanking Houston.

Since Trae returned from sprained ankle he has been tearing the league up. Ove 30ppg, 9apg and shooting 50% from the field. Team now 6-2 in that span.

another great game for the Hawks last night. Beat up on ORL so well the starters didn't have to play the entire 4th quarter.

Unfortunately both NYK and MIA won as well so nothing was clinched last night in terms of seeding.

Only one game left for the Hawks, Saturday at home vs worst team in the league Houston.

NYK and MIA both have 2 games. If everyone wins out they all tie and Hawks clinch #4. If Hawks tie with NYK then NYK gets #4. If Hawks tie with MIA then Hawks get #4. If Hawks lose and those teams win out then hawks get #6.

This weekend is going to be intense not just for this battle, but also several other seeding battles around the league.

Trae about to sign a $200 million dollar extension.

But the word is that the Hawks and Collins are still far apart on his contract. Collins turned down $90 million last off season and can make up tp $125 million. Not sure where Hawks are at now and how far apart they are, but it's a tricky situation. On the one hand you can't lose Collins for nothing, but on the other hand he showed in the playoffs he is not a max player. Close, but not a max.

Can't get any worse and it didn't stop his very injured squad from getting within 2 games of the NBA finals. But can get better and that will only help an already excellent team. And who really gives a shit about defense anyway? He's a PG and it's the NBA.

Also, Hawks signed John Collins today to 5 year $125 million. Hawks are loaded as the Eastern conference continues to get better.

I'm sure Milwaukee put up good stats in all areas of the game since they won the championship.

Hawks playoff defense was highly rated despite having Trae out there so who you crappin?

I'm quite sure Brooklyn was not the 3rd ranked defense in the league last year.

Personally, I would rank the teams that made the final 4 in their own category since those teams played more games and against tougher opponents, but if you look at the 16 ranked together Nets are #3 in defense. Hawks basically played a murder's row of defenses in the playoffs....NYK, PHI, MIL.
