I am also in the camp that says play him Day 1. I do not want to see Nagy and Pace hold him out until they're 4-8.

That’s kind of the turd in the punch bowl here. Bears got by far the 2nd best prospect in the entire draft yet there’s a high probability Nagy ruins him.

I thought i read that Nagy will not be at the rookie mini camp, so we got that going for us.

Are we allowed to speculate that Trevor Lawrence might suck?

I feel like the CDC won’t allow it.

I’ve harbored a thought that he might not be good. I’ve never seen it stated aloud. I’m not sure my NFL Viewer Card can be renewed if I consider that as a possibility and I’d like to continue to be 53% of the NFL audience.

I would not have a grabber if Trevor Lawrence is destroyed trying to make a career in JAX with the support he has there.

Everybody just assumes there are rising tides in all the new personnel arriving there that will cure all ills - I-L-L...K-H-A-N....

I posit that this all could fail. Don’t @ me.

I don't think Lawrence will suck, but I'm not convinced that he is better than Fields.

I’m not sold on Lawrence. I was pretty vocal predraft about Lawrence and Fields being grouped together in their own tier as prospects. That still holds true.

To your point, the actions and history of both franchises and their current coaching staffs would have me highly concerned for both reaching that potential.

Jacksonville is pretty good across the skill position players. I think Lawrence is every bit as good of a prospect as Luck. He is surrounded by offensive talent and Urban Meyer is a great coach. I think he is going to flourish almost immediately.

Sounds like the ready made excuses are already in when these guys suck. Well the team is bad

Luck never really lived up to the hype. I still don't think Lawrence will be as good as him. I would take a gimpy Burrow and Fields over him every day of the week.

I've heard the opposite from several college football guys I respect. We'll see this year I guess. So far he's off to a pretty terrible start.

I don’t know man. Meyer’s fingerprints are all over the way offense is played at every level today.

Granted he won’t be able to recruit and win strictly on talent, but the guy has succeeded in every role he’s ever had.

That's why it will be interesting to see how he does in the NFL. I'm not offering an opinion on him either way, I don't follow college close enough to, but I know several people who said he's an atrocious game day coach. We'll get a better idea if that's true this year.

Drafting a RB in round 1 when it wasn't a need, signing an outfielder to play TE, and publicly admitting you wanted Kadarious Toney, the most overrated prospect in this entire class, are some glaring red flags that this could be a disaster already.

I'd challenge them to provide any supporting evidence.

He was great at every stop, from Bowling Green to Ohio State. He took nothing programs and made them good, good programs and made them great and great programs and made them elite. He developed NFL talent and more particularly QB talent everywhere he coached, even BG. As said before, he was an innovator followed by the entire college game.

This is the kinda leader we need.

“Of course I think everybody on our team should be striving for a starting job, and if you’re not there’s no reason for you to be here,” Fields said. “So of course I’m going to do everything I can to get that starting job. It’s not up to me. Coach Nagy has a set plan for my development, but I’m just going to work hard, keep my head down and keep grinding it out every day.”

Nagy, the man with the plan, managed to get himself "COVID" before the first Rookie OTA, despite being vaccinated. He is in good hands.

Hopefully Nagy doesn't take away his best ability in an offseason for no real good reason.

I think he’s caught up in overly conservative contact tracing bullshit.

Whether his absence is good or bad remains to be seen.

He increased his salary by $8M after playing worse than (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky and he may get to play against his former team. I think things worked out really well for Dalton.

Nagy is getting vaccinated but is not yet fully vaccinated, according to Rapoport.

Do you even have a brain, Bob? One that actually works I mean.

Are you saying there will be zero coaches on the field at Halas this weekend?

Should be able to tell after a few pre season games if he's able to run the offense. Remember hearing that they had to buy Mitch books on leadership, doubt they will need to do that for this kid.

We're entering into the good old potential franchise QB 2-3 year window, would expect all the corresponding highs and lows you get with a young QB, but not sure if we would recognize a franchise QB because we have never had one.
