He's very Cutleresque.

I personally think Fields will be significantly better than Winston.

#1 overall and he gets replaced and the team wins a SB.

I am not saying he is great or anything close but I dont think he is a bust. He threw for over 4000 yards a couple times and very well maybe a starter again in the league. IMO that is not a bust. But I guess it comes down to the definition of a bust.

Yeah, if you were the #1 overall pick in the draft and can't even hold a starting QB job, you are a bust.

Winston has gotten a pass because the #2 pick didn't exactly light the league up. Bust may be too strong of a word though.

Statistically, he'd be the greatest QB in Bears history.

True. That's why you watch the games. No quarterback in the history of the franchise has been a walking turnover like he has either.

Yeah, I don't really want to watch him either. I've seen enough.

More of a commentary on Chicago fan starvation.

I suspect immaturity and studying is Winston's biggest problem. Maybe Payton can change that.

Hopefully, Fields will make us forget about Sid Luckman, the first 6 weeks of the 2006 season and whatever McMahon was when healthy. If not, I may end up a casual fan of all Chicago sports teams in my 50's.

ah won't be the first time.

It is not like I argued he is great. I just don't view him as a bust.

Either way Fields is going to be better than him and it is not going to be close.

He started for 5 years.

What's the over/under on holding down a job?

Well, he was awful for five years too, culminating in him becoming the laughingstock of the entire league in 2019. I think that needs to be taken into consideration.

That time frame also included nearly an entire season(2018) of being benched for "Fitzmagic".

At this time Id call Winston a buster, i don't think we have seen him reach his peak yet though. I believe Fields will be slightly better than him.

Slightly better means that Fields will throw 25 interceptions and sexually assault a bus driver.

Submarine captain would seem more difficult.

Just from a cover story standpoint.

Think he’s still got 40/40 TD/INT potential? I’m a believer. He’s a unique talent.

Seen them. My biggest issue with Warner in these is that he spends too much time critiquing the film from how he was taught to make these plays, or how he would have made these plays (he even admits this at points in the videos).

That’s why I prefer JT O’Sullivans reviews of tape over Warner’s. JT simply breaks down what the player themselves is doing. Also, he has like 7 or 8 video breakdowns alone on Justin Fields, this one is from his 1st year with Ohio State against Michigan..

https://youtu.be/peZTHP7QhXs

^Its interesting to watch this and then later breakdown videos where you can see how Ohio St changes the scheme over time and starts letting Fields make more decisions (see the Nebraska game for example)

Is this more or less impressive than being able to jump out of a pool in chest-high water?

The crossbar is probably our second-best WR.

very good sign. aaron rodgers had the same confidence when he was drafted to hit any small target.

I will never agree with Nagy's approach, if Fields is the best looking QB after camp and preseason he needs to start week 1.

During Sox rain delays, they’ll air Big Frank’s “Hangin with Hurt.” Its a tough watch, but he had Nagy on recently so I stayed on the channel.

Nagy kept stressing he needs Bears fans to show patience with the plan for Fields, which is annoying as this coaching staff/front office have done nothing to earn that patience.
