Tony is going to get roasted. As Casey Stern from XM89 said, he hopes Tim hits 3HR tonight and gets asked about it on the Zoom press conference.

The legend of Yermin continues. It may not last, but it's going to burn brightly for a while longer.

It's pretty damned dumb for him to throw his best young hitter (this season) under the bus. Tony may be too set in his ways to understand that.

I’ve alternated between shitting on him and defending him, but this is an insanely stupid thing to say through the media. He needs a guy next to him telling him when to shut the fuck up.

A sponsor, if you will.

La Russa and the unwritten rules symbolize exactly what is wrong with Major League Baseball, forever behind the times. This old demented fuck should have never been hired. The Minnesota Twins make the game into an absolute circus by bringing in their 45 mph throwing catcher to pitch and then the tired old dinosaur coaching the White Sox places blame on his own player for having the audacity to swing 3-0. Instead of using common sense and continuing to play normally the entire game, there is an idiotic expectation on the winning team to play half speed. It's a goddamn joke, it's not hard to see why this sport has such a difficult time attracting young fans.

I agree. I don't care about the manager but this is just nonsense. It isn't going to stop this monster team from winning. It's just unnecessary bullshit that shows how out of touch he is with the modern fan and modern player.

That's just it. I don't think he thought he was throwing him under the bus. In his mind he was sticking up for his player who did something wrong and trying to smooth it over on the player's behalf. It just shows how out of touch he is.

The proper response if TLR wants to prevent somebody throwing at Yermin (Astudillo did seem really pissed) is:

"I should have put the take sign on as a measure of respect to Rocco. I didn't. Yermin hit it a mile because it was a cookie. Can't blame him for that. If they are offended, Rocco can talk to me when we exchange lineup cards."

Did he really answer a follow up question by saying it would have been fine to swing if the count were 3-1? My God that’s just stupid.

Agree 100%. Also his recent interactions with Tatis, Jr were awesome. Just two great players battling and tipping the hat for the “winner”.

LaRussa was trying to defuse this. So he was right again.

The Twins were pissed last night. Nothing to do with LaRussa.

It’s like crediting [politician] for promising [something political] and then not doing that thing, thereby proving [the politician’s] independence or something.

Letting Eaton bat vs a lefty in the 9th was a fireable offense with Mendick and others available on the bench. I think Eaton is batting .100 against lefties.

We hired a geriatric hall of famer.

You hired a fucking pussy who is too much of a wuss to bench guys he played with. As much as I think Tony is a dipshit clown, rather have him than your burrito manager.

What is the unwritten rule for bringing a non pitcher big lob of shit to closeout a slaughter? I think Mercedes had just wrote the rule

If this is really such a big issue then maybe it needs to be addressed by the league. Maybe position players shouldn't be allowed to pitch. Or maybe a team should be allowed to resign like in chess.

Yeah if people are really going to be upset then just say only pitchers can pitch. I dont care for the resigning thing, but it would be better than hearing people bi.tch about such stupid stuff.

Hopefully we will see more people with the mindset of Bauer.
