LaRussa is wrong, but that is a pretty good comeback.

That would be an epic comeback from Anderson or Yermin. He is right, he has an office for now!

I'm only seeing bits and pieces of this thing. Has Anderson or Yermin actually spoke on this? Like spoke in person/Zoom, or is this all Instagram posts and likes whatnot?

Tony is a dipshit, but these players could be laughing their asses off at all of this. If they win today, this all goes away pretty quickly.

I think an Instagram posts is the modern day athlete’s version of a statement to the press.

This whole thing is such a dumb unforced error. TLR should be forced into sobriety for a day or two as penance.

Kinda sorta. I get it, but its also easier to dismiss an innocuous social media post/like than an actual statement to a reporter.

Regardless, Hahn should be on the phone (if he hasnt already) with TLR telling him to STFU and just say "no comment" on any other questions regarding this whole thing.

i still dont get why that fat clown from the twins is given amnesty to turn the game into a joke and get all kinds of laughs from his teammates and fans while getting guys OUT and embarrassing them, but the very first time he gets rightfully put in his place its so disrespectful. I cant wait for that fucker to get into another game and get one of those lollipops returned to sender at 120 mph.

By noon on Monday, the White Sox had the distinction of being the team atop every major MLB power ranking under the sun.

A day later, they were the laughingstock of baseball. Such is the duality of the White Sox.

It all goes back to the fundamental problem of hiring the Hall of Famer Baseball Person after nine years away while awaiting the resolution of a pending DUI case, which was such a unnecessary risk for a team talented and established enough to largely run itself.

The injuries between then and now make what they’ve accomplished through the first quarter of the season more impressive. But outside of a pleasantly flexible deployment of Michael Kopech’s talents as they seek to ration his innings over the course of a six-month layoff, you can’t really point to anything La Russa is specifically doing to help the White Sox win games.

https://www.soxmachine.com/2021/05/19/t ... ntroversy/

This controversy is entirely the media being pissed that he was hired. The Sox are the best team in baseball, they've had a ton of injuries, but LaRussa sucks.

You aren't wrong by any means, but LaRussa is basically granting the amnesty here.

i grew up in northern NJ rooting for the Yankees when I was a kid, and it is funny imagining Billy Martin handling a similar situation had he been in LaRussa's position. He'd have been throwing punches at crybaby Rocco Baldelli last night and telling the entire Twins team to fuck off and telling the entire league that they will fuck up anyone who tried that bullshit against them again, save your unwritten rules and clown show catcher/pitcher for one of the new-age "feelings" teams on your schedule, and his players and fan base would love him for it.

That's definitely part of it.

And if you think the Sox are this good in spite of LaRussa, you're pretty much admitting the manager doesn't matter.

I think he's handled the pitching staff pretty well for the most part, which is really how a manager affects the game. The things they have pointed out that were terrible mistakes are mostly bullshit. They didn't lose the extra innings game because Hendricks was on base. And he wasn't in mortal danger running the bases.

One quality the older TLR lacks is the ability to sidestep press conference questions. Crazy Joe would say a lot of mumbo jumbo. If you disagree or call him out he'd say you weren't sophisticated in the subject you're talking about. TLR is brutally honest, it at least appears. No one is up front in his position in this pc sjw age. He doesn't play the agree with consensus PC game. I don't know if he's sharp enough at his age to outsmart this game.

He's got a bullseye on his back for being part white, older, DUI's and chiding NFL kneelers. He was coached to reverse that opinion of course. He's a sitting target for left demons like Bernstein and Larry. I think Reinsdorf put him in a awkward position at his age. Especially being the teams front man when society has become so twisted and weak.

You can bag on Joe Maddon for many things, but I'm pretty sure he never praised another team for hitting his own player, dumbfuck.

Astudillo gets hit today and this all goes away, save for TLR praising a division rival for throwing at his guy.

Some Sox fans would rather the Sox be worse as long as AJ Hinch were the manager ( he of the unassailable character) as long as Rick Hahn got to pick him.
