What say you for a Craig Kimbrel?

Do you believe that's the case?

Nobody seemed to care when it happened and they didn't say anything about it after the game.

If we didn't have a cheap owner, I would say that you would have to make a trade for Kimbrel and Bryant.

Really? Astudillo was visibly angry.

How about the similar situation last year with Tatis? That had nothing to do with LaRussa.

These rookies having opinions on the protocols and the way things are done remind me of the 19 year old guy I hired to pack boxes, who in the first week he was working for me came into my office to tell me some things he thought could improve the business I had been successfully running since he was in third grade.

Astudillo gave up a homer he should be angry.

Robin Ventura hit a homerun on 3-0 with 2 outs in the 9th up 9-1 in 93, don't remember anybody caring back then and Sparky Anderson didn't bother to hit him next game. Players hit 3-0 home runs before Tatis Jr.

Are you saying that the unwritten rule was established during the Tatis incident?

Look, your position seems to be that this particular unwritten rule is silly. I agree. That isn't the point. The "rule" does exist. And it wasn't invented by Tony LaRussa or Eric Hosmer. And both Hosmer and LaRussa were doing the same thing- sticking up for a player on their team, not throwing him under the bus.

They were both trying to avoid a beanball war that breaking an unwritten rule like that often starts. And they both did it by pretending that the incidents were caused out of ignorance rather than the truth, which is that it was arrogance and "I don't give a fuck" attitude. Mercedes told you as much and it's hard to believe that Tatis didn't know the protocols, unwritten rules, and taboos when he grew up around the game.

I 100% agree. The problem is, he burned his bridge with Jerry.

I am shocked, they didn't put a younger guy on Tony's staff, for him to "retire" if things quickly went south with something stupid. I hope at the end of the season he retires.

I think there's a disconnect in it being called a "rule." Players have swung and will continue to swing at 3-0 pitches in blowouts, most players won't. It's an unwritten assumption that clearly not everyone believes in.

Fair enough. I'm not claiming to know all about the customs of a society to which I do not belong. And I suppose if enough members of a society say "fuck that custom" the custom is gone. I just take issue with LaRussa being the bad guy in the situation.

And I do think LaRussa is out of touch. Not necessarily because of his age, but more because he hasn't been in a clubhouse for ten years.

Anyway, I think way too much has been made of it and it all derives from the politics of LaRussa thinking we should stand for the anthem. There are a lot of people that consider the anthem and the flag itself an assault on "People of Color" and said consideration informs this entire incident.

I don't think he's a bad guy for believing it, he's "bad" because he handled it in the most ham-fisted way possible. It was a great story for an otherwise boring time in sports. People see the SJW bogeyman everywhere. Did TLR's previous actions color the reporting? Of course they did, that's what made it an even better story.

So yesterday you can clearly mark as an occurrence where TLR's dumbassary resulted in a loss. 100% on him. You all do realize you can hate on this shit hire without rubber stamping everything Dan Bernstein says...

I'm guessing not starting the ninth with Hendriks. Personally, I take more issue with signing that buster for big money than I do with the way the manager chooses to use him.

Pitching to Torres with 2 outs, 1st base open and the .180 Gary Sanchez on deck.

He also needs to stop sending relievers our there for over 1 inning. Certain guys like Kopech and Hendriks can, but most modern relievers can't. He keeps doing it though, and it bites them in the ass.

So Tony was supposed to run out there in the 1st inning and tell a veteran what the situation is?

Literally give the signal to the catcher for the intentional walk.

Intentionally walking in the 1st inning, eh? "Keuchel, you suck. I'm not going to let you see if you can get Torres to get himself out on a bad pitch ...in the 1st inning." Turns out you were right, but it's not how you manage a veteran pitcher.

I'm no fan of TLR, but intentionally walking the bases loaded in the 1st sounds dumb.

The White Sox scored a total of five runs in the series against the Yanks. genius Cubs fans should know that scoring five runs across three games is not going to result in MANY wins.

Yesterday, four runs should have been enough to win. If TLR walks Torres, Yanks don't score two runs in the first. 5 minus 2 is 3. We know you can't read but I guess math isn't your forte either.

viewtopic.php?f=100&t=125477#p3649418 Fucking genius.

if TLR decided to walk the bases loaded in the 1st, then Keuchel gave up a double, genius bob would have been the first guy here blaming LaRussa for purposely loading the bases so early in a ballgame.

I 100% agree. The problem is, he burned his bridge with Jerry.

They brought Miguel Cairo in to be his bench coach. So he is next in line if Tony has a "medical situation."

But Ozzie is still on the team but in the TV studio. Jerry still ok wit dat.

Cairo not the answer as he is now tainted by being TLR's 'brain'.

Ozzie could #SaveOurSeason.

Bonus-Ozzie is so entertaining and MLB is entertainment. Sounds like a match made by Entertainment cupid.

Edit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Big Frank, our HOF bestie will absolutely love this cupid match. He'll rally da fans.

This is your last chance Jerry. Dead pool has you gone over next winter.
