I'll say again. Thomas is the greatest White Sox player by the things we can measure. After that it gets into opinions. No, I'm not claiming Abreu is a better hitter than Frank. I'm not even claiming he's much better defensively. I'm saying I'd rather have him on my team. Just like I'd take Jeter over A-Rod without thinking twice about it.

I get it. There's a love of the game aspect and all that entails that's undervalued. There's no argument that all through the '90's, Frank was about Frank. And when the strike zone changed, he lost the dominance that he had. But to be fair, he was also on the back side of his prime.

All I can say is Abreu at 34 is better than Frank at 34. It is a shame that Jose didn't get the chance to grow at 22 instead of 27.

Still no real timetable. I don't have a good feeling about getting anything from either this year. Engel returning is more encouraging. It will hopefully remove the black hole of Garcia from the lineup. Engel and Hamilton should be able to run about anything down.
