Again this is simply revisionist history. Not surprising coming from one of the more non objective people around here. I started attack threads only after these two had waged campaigns trying to get me banned. Pittmike (your break bread buddy) used to get drunk on Friday nights and go on rants about how the CFMB world would be a better place if only they'd ban me.

Before that I was fucking the place up with all of my "race talk". Sure doesn't seem to be much of a problem with race talk around here now does it?

As far as JLN goes same thing. The attack threads started only after he repeatedly lobbied for me to be banned. He needed to exact his pound of flesh as a means of evening the score for the banning of racists on here.

That you'd completely ignore this isn't all that surprising since both have likely "broken bread" with you in the past. Hence they will forever be granted a pass as far as you're concerned.

As far as "wanting all the smoke" that too is a misnomer. I attempted to establish a detente with both you, JLN, and I'm sure Pittmike and each of you declined. I asked that you refrain from responding to things that I post and I'd do the same. Each of you declined. If I was the guy looking for arguments all the then why was it so difficult for you and the others to accept the offer of civility? Isn't that what each of you so desired? Or so you claimed?

Lastly you aren't exactly a needle mover either Frank. Though you think that people are here to read your next Cub troll job or stalk poster after poster, they really aren't. Outside of your beloved Darko no one clamors for your latest thoughts. If they were then this place wouldn't be hemorrhaging posters at the rate that it does.

Dude, enough of this nonsense. get yourself back to the NBA section. We need you!

How bout my guy Trae? I know you know you got some crow to eat on that name. :D

Either way, stop wasting your time on this petty crap and just come back to the NBA section.

Top 10 PG but that's as far as it goes. This series is a tough one given the two parties but I'm rolling with the Knicks. You know I must really hate Trae

that is pretty hardcore hatred if you are willing to cheer for the Knicks. I'm just hoping the Hawks can close it out and that Trae continues to be the best player in the series. If that happens then all the haters who said he would get exposed in the playoffs are gonna be at the crow buffet.

I'm not even thinking or talking about Philly yet, but I will admit that the injury news to Embiid today definitely caused me to daydream a bit.

I'm not a Knicks hater. Moreso a Thibs detractor. Knicks aren't a good team and the East drops off tremendously after the top 3 teams.

Philly will lock him up next series.

what if Embiid doesn't play? Still think they beat ATL assuming ATL gets there? I don't think PHI can beat ATL without Embiid.

Its going to be tough without Embiid. Howard steals you a game but that's about it. Philly's starting backup of Green and Curry (discounting Ben Simmons) is the worst starting backcourt in the league. They won't have nearly enough offense without Embiid. Or defense for that matter.

Agreed. And the way Simmons shoots the ball Philly will basically have to rely on Tobias Harris to carry the offense in crunch time. Without Embiid the 3 point shooters won't have as much space either which will hurt Green and Curry.

Yeah the one strength of Simmons (playing downhill) will somewhat negated by the shot blocking of Capella and to a lesser extent Collins. The Trae match-up will be intriguing. If he guards Curry Curry will go off. If its Green he has a much better chance because they will run Curry off of a million screens. Green merely spots up

With no Embiid this series becomes a lot more interesting. Atlanta gives them hell during the regular season and has since Trae has been in the league.

I expect to see a lot of Thybulle on Trae this series. Some Simmons as well. If its mostly Curry Philly is Cooked.

Thybulle is a really interesting defender. He's actually horrible at staying in front of guys, but it plays to his strength because he's great at poking/blocking balls away from behind. The key to playing against him is to recognize that and stay protective of the ball even after you blow by him.

I expect the Hawks will put Trae on Green like they did with Bullock. Trae can guard guys who just stand in the corner.

Yeah Thybulle gambles a lot and his balance seemingly is off but he has the quickness and length to stay in front of Trae. If isn't going to go Thybulle then it has to be Hill and Curry in the backcourt. Green is too easy to guard. They have to make Trae defend.

Don't be surprised if Doc goes to a lineup with Simmons at the 5 in order to get more spacing. Capella is active but undersized as a center with no post game. Simmons is the most versatile defender in the league and has the size to check him.

That would be fascinating to watch if he does and something we haven't seen in the league since Magic.

Thybulle can't stay in front of Trae. He's guarded him several times over past 2 years and hasn't been able to yet. No shame in that, there isn't a player in the NBA who can stay in front of him. Well, maybe a couple really small guys, but he would just shoot over them.

If Thybulle plays the Hawks will be able to rest Trae on defense.

I hope they do that cause that would allow Capela to just sit back and guard the rim. Simmons won't be able to guard Capela on the other end. He's too small to guard the lob which is 90% of Capela's offense.

Ben Simmons is 6'11 240. Capella is 6'10 and 240. The lob is 100% of Capela's offense he has no post game and can't shoot. Capella will have to play Simmons on the floor or its an illegal defense. There is no way he stays with Simmons in space.

Simmons starting at the 5 tonight with Thybulle now in the lineup. If Philly wins watch for this lineup to open the series with him at the 5 minus Embiid

If it were early yes. Injuries may have short circuited him. Edwards in Minnesota would be my choice. He had a helluva 2nd half to the season. Also can't overlook Haliburton

Happy to get him to admit he exaggerated about Thibs being bad in his book. I also think I've been proven right in the Kyrie is soft debate.

The mere fact that it took you 5 years to rev up the "Thibs is a great coach" chatter is quite telling. His rudimentary, predictable, iso based, ball screen intensive offense really is acquitting itself really well in the Atlanta series isn't it? McMillan is running laps around him.

As far as Kyrie goes the guy is a killer. Just like I always said that he was.

I'm going to try to enjoy listening to Marv Albert since he's at the end and the Wizards are about to go fishing.

They really overachieved this year. Their best player is the 4th best player on a championship team. That being said, they should have put up a better effort the past 3 games. That falls on the coach too.

They really overachieved this year. Their best player is the 4th best player on a championship team. That being said, they should have put up a better effort the past 3 games. That falls on the coach too.

I dont think so. Playoffs expose people and the Knicks got exposed.

You think Julius Randle is better than a 4th option on a championship team? You really believe they have a talented roster?

Thibs did an amazing job. Team should never have even made it to the playoffs in the first place

He is an average coach. He just isn't a good or great coach. There are certain things that he does (playing starters long minutes during the regular season when other coaches sit their guys or shorten their minutes) that will always gain him a few more wins during the regular season. Its in the playoffs that his ineptitude as a coach will always show up. As Draymond said last night "everyone plays hard during the playoffs". And everyone plays long minutes for the most part too.

His offensive system stinks.

I don't think he's ever underachieved with any team. He haf the best record in the NBA when Luol Deng was his best player. He's a good coach. Thought he would be great but time is running out.

I’m not sure how he’ll ever top the bench-mob years, either in terms of roster talent or overall success. Even then, with a ton of above average guys who fit his system, he was just positioning his team to get shit pumped by Lebron in the semis rather than the first round.

I didn't write that correctly. I was addressing whether the Knicks could have put up a better effort. I don't think so.

His last year with the Bulls team underachieved. They had enough talent to beat the Cleveland team that made the finals. The Minnesota Team that made the playoffs was an underachieving team also.

A number of his teams go out 4-1 4-0 all of the time too.
