This isn't baseball, the poor stadium doesn't really impact the teams ability to compete financially in the NFL.

It clearly works for football teams to be in the suburbs. Most big markets have done it.

They play on a dirt patch now as it is. If this helps them win more games and a Super Bowl, I could not care less if they play in a cookie cutter, generic type stadium.

Aside from the nostalgia of the Chicago Lakefront, it's a pretty great location, access to three major interstates, 10 minutes from O'Hare without having to deal with major traffic from Stadium to Airport.

MANY of the hotels and the casino in Rosemont would likely do this as well. A type of "stay and (watch the) play" if you will.

I guess it depends on what you value. For me going to a game is about more than just attending a sporting event. The atmosphere of Chicago is part of the experience. It's the same reason I prefer Lincoln Park Zoo to Brookfield. To me, it's worth the occasional headache.

I still don't understand what you're getting at. I'm a lifelong Chicagoan and attend the occasional Bears/Packers game along with many other sporting and festival type events. Part of the attraction is the city.

On the other point; sure ownership plays a role but I'd bet they have new ownership within 2 years regardless.

Of course there will be a minute segment of Bears fans that won't travel to Arlington Hts for various reasons; history, the City, etc.

There would not be a single unsold Bears ticket in a new building for at least the first 4-5 years of its existence.

I've been to a few games at AT&T Stadium in Arlington to watch the Arlington Cowboys among others.

The difference between games there and games at Soldier Field is a chasm.

AT&T is commercialized, sterile, and bland. You could walk outside of that stadium and not have any idea what municipality is closest to where you are unless you had a GPS and an atlas.

Soldier Field for all of it's warts is an authentic experience, one that you can't get many other places. Once you take that away you can't get it back. AT&T is about the least authentic experience you can get at an NFL game. Sure both the Bears and the Cowboys are trying their best to extricate your money from your wallet, but at least the Soldier Field experience from pregame to the walk out of the stadium has authenticity and character that you can't replicate in Arlington Heights or anywhere else.

AT&T Stadium is authentic if you really enjoy parking lots...

I would potentially be interested in doing season tickets and pay for the seat licenses if they were to come out to Arlington.

The experience comes with the product on the field. If the Cowboys were consistently in the discussion to go to the Superbowl every year, nobody would give a fuck about their yuppie stadium. Same for the Bears if they move.

I'm in for all Monday/Thursday night games. I drive by there every day around 5-6pm. I can make a stop.
