Keep me updated. I can't listen to the Score. Is it official?

Right now I feel like Michael in The Godfather. Remember when he and Kate walk out of the movies. Kate sees the paper. It says his father had been shot. Michael reads...

"It doesn't say if he's dead or alive."

That's how I feel right now.

I just never recall Quentin being hit on the wrist. He's been hit on the forearm. If it's the forearm maybe he can play through it. If he can handle the pain during a swing. Maybe they can shoot it up before games. Maybe just rest him during the season some. We can still make the playoffs. But we'll need him for the playoffs.

Does that mean he's out for the season? Out for 1 month, until the playoffs?

That's what I want to know damnit!!!

MLB.com, ESPN.com, Foxsports.com: None of them are reporting a thing on Quentin. Maybe Jesse fucked up. I assume this is Jesse reporting this, right? It's possible he's wrong. It's our only hope.

I'm glad we have Griffey now.

I was worried about this. I said it before. He stands so close to the plate and doesn't move. He was bound to break something. Fuck.

I guess Swisher plays left every day and Griffey plays center. That's the way Ozzie will do it. I'd rather he flip it but I don't think Griffey is comfortable in left. Brian Anderson will play for Griffey against lefties.

Even in the small chance that he could be, you really could not expect much from him. Look how long it has taken D Lee to recover fully from it.

I heard on AM1000 that he had an MRI, results won't be known until late tonite or tommorow, but if he's that sore and just now has an MRI, probably not good news.

This is a big blow, but pitching it what wins in the postseason. Thome, Dye, and Konerko really need to step it up.

Really? I thought so cuz I don't recall him being hit recently. Another poster said Boston hit him so I took his word but I don't recall that happening.

He did it by slamming his bat down? That fuckin' sucks.

Wow, that sucks balls. I truly feel bad for you, Sox fans; with the Cubs' recent injury troubles, I can relate. What's with all the Chicago injuries all of a sudden?

No, he didn't. Riles Williams Neck is just a cocksucker who likes to flip shit here on the boards, most likely because he has a tiny penis.

Does that rule also to apply to Danny Bernstein? He is stating the same thing. Maybe Dan received his info from WWN?

I don't want pity from Cubs fans.

Hey, Konerko is swinging the bat now. He wasn't all year. Maybe that can fill the Quentin gap a little bit.

We can still make the playoffs.

You are right. As are thousands of other meatball Cub fans around the city.

Pitching wins down the stretch and in the playoffs. Losing CQ is a big loss, but if the Sox pitch well, they will still win this division.

How does the Ken Griffey Jr. acquisition at the MLB Trade Deadline look now? Make no mistake about it, White Sox fans, the Carlos Quentin injury is devastating for a guy who worked his ass off to become the everyday left fielder & leading candidate for American League MVP. What it also means is that Nick Swisher likely takes over as the full time left fielder, Paul Konerko at first base, plus a likely platoon with Griffey & Brian Anderson in centerfield.

Devastating. That's all I would like to share. Everything else is heavily laced with profanities inappropriate for the classy company of fine folks on this board.

News hit ESPN.com

Not sure how effective he will be even if he comes back this year.
