They need a DH. Vaughn is hitting .230 with a .700 OPS. They should have signed someone in the offseason. Schwarber would look good right now.

Theres no way to expect he'd be doing what he is now but you figure at the very least he would outperform what Vaughn is doing plus hes left handed. Probably safe to say that with 500 ab he would give you 30 -35 HR and a decent amount of walks. I thought he wouldve been a good fit for them.

The Sox don't need a DH. Their new full time DH is going to start a minor league rehab assignment this weekend and is probably with the team after the All-Star Break.

He'll probably be a 50 HR player since he won't have the opportunity to kill himself in the outfield anymore.

It was time for Vaughn. I still think it is. It's good to remember he's been thrown into an outfield position in MLB after a year and half of no competitive ball whatsoever. He's going to figure this shit out. I have no doubt.

Not bright ideas here. The Sox had no room for Schwarber. They already have a butcher in LF who was going to give them 35HR. Nobody figured Eloy would miss at least half the season and hindsight is always 20/20.

Vaughn is a 23 year old rookie who had not played above A ball before this season. Of course he will struggle at times. He also has a .788 OPS over the last 11 games when the entire offense (for the most part) has taken a shit.

He's right in that Vaughn was penciled in at DH. It's also makes sense that Vaughn would be a better hitter right now if all he had to concentrate on is hitting.

Kinda sorta yeah. Between Grandal, Abreu, Eloy, and Vaughn, there were options at DH. The Sox need a 2B and bullpen arms way more than a DH right meow.





And Eaton (who should be DFA'd) was brought in to play RF, a position that Babe nor Eloy are able to hold down.

Eaton was an ehh move as discussed here, but I wasn't against it. He's a damn good RFer . Or was.

The injuries (Eaton's included) screwed up everything. A regular outfield of Eloy, Robert, Eaton/Engel, with Hamilton as a 5th OF and late inning replacement,
would have been one of the better defensive OFs in the American League.
