Looks like the "Nine O'Clock News" will have to wait a little while longer as the Sox go up & out 1,2,3 again...Top 14th coming up in this 6-6 tie...

In his second inning of work, Matt Thornton has been lights out on the Anaheim hitters & has retired 'em all in the top 14th. Joshua Fields set to lead off the bottom 14th still tied at 6-6.

   Joshua Fields is so tentative as both a third baseman defensively & as a hitter, he's JOSHUA in my book! If you think he's ready to take over the "hot corner", Vinny, once Joe Crede & agent Scott Bora$ get a new deal elsewhere in free agency, you are sorely mistaken!

Back to the game, the two teams have gone 1-2-3 in each of the last 3 innings. Top 15th coming up, Sox fans, still tied at 6-6 with Horacio Ramirez pitching...

Garret Anderson walks w/1 out, while Mark Teixeira replaces him on a fielder's choice. 2 out w/Ehran Wasserman hoping to keep the game tied in the 15th & Vlad Guerrero set to face #43.

Wasserman gets Guerrero out on a K. End this crap already, Sox!!! Bottom 15th in a 6-6 tie, and the "Nine O'Clock News" getting awfully impatient!!! Justin Speier coming out of the bullpen now for the Garth Brooks-looking Mike Scioscia & Anaheim...

12 more wins to clinch this division according to my previous analysis. Big, big win.

I never thought I'll be paying this much attention to a Tiger-Twinky game.

Tiger up by 2 in top 9 w/1 out nobody on. 4:03pm

Only 26,000 for a big game against the Angels. Mercy.

Successful series, taking 2 of 3 from a tough team while the Twins lost 2 over the weekend.

Next up, enough tough team, 4 games against Toronto.

3 out of 4 would be great.

This was certainly a successfull weekend.

The Jays are tough, but they will not run away offensively. I see the Sox taking 3 and being shut out by Halladay.

Hopefully, Buerhle will be on his game for that game, and we can let the bullpens decide the outcome.

it sure seemed like there were less people there yesterday. most of the outfield bleachers and from the infield-out, in the upper tank, was empty.

It seems misleading, because for a few years now, MLB has been counting attendance by the number of tickets sold, not actual bodies in the stands. I was watching "The Best Damn Sports Show Period" the other night, and the subject of attendance came up with the guys in the studio. The Florida Marlins, for instance, had less than 100 fans at Dolphin Stadium the other day for a game vs. the Atlanta Braves in Miami. The Braves, I believe, only drew about 1,200 fans many years ago for a game vs. the Houston Astros when they called Fulton County Stadium home. Before MLB bought the Montreal Expos many years ago and relocated the franchise to Washington, DC to become the Nationals, there were more empty seats than fans at Olympic Stadium in the final years of that franchise.
